The Wallace Restaurant is a London dining experience just waiting to be discovered. Flooded with natural light and dotted with trees and sculptures, the restaurant offers an elegant lunch and afternoon tea in a sublime setting protected from both the elements and the bustle of the West End. Stop by our stunning courtyard and enjoy our drop-in café.

Make a reservation for:
A La Carte or Set Lunch Menu any day between 12:00 - 14:00.
Afternoon tea service, 7 days a week, between 12:00-12:30 & 14:30 - 16:00.

Please provide any dietary restrictions and/or allergies at least 48 hours in advance so we can guarantee accommodation.

We kindly ask all guests to vacate the building by the museum closing time of 5pm.

Please note, guests cannot book online using a voucher, please email the restaurant with the voucher/serial number, PIN (if applicable), and voucher expiry date to reservations@thewallacerestaurant.com.

A disappointing meal. The pate was wrapped in ham and the chef was unable to provide it without the ham. The toast was burnt. The chicken was dry and the potato was tasteless. Mohammad was very polite and said he would provide feedback. We have dined at the Wallace many times and this was the first time we were disappointed.

I had heard good reviews of The Wallace having a good high tea. Overall, I was very disappointed. Not only was I ignored by the staff, the high tea was mediocre at best. The tea sandwiches seemed old, cold, and it was obvious that they had been sitting out since the bread was stiff. The scones were not fresh and lacked flavor. Some is the sweets were ok, but nothing special. The tea was good although I had to flag someone down twice to have them refill - and the restaurant was not busy. Very disappointed as I was in from the states and looked forward to the tea and afterward view the collection. So much potential but did not meet expectations.

The afternoon tea was delicious, the scones , cakes, sandwiches were all very tasty . The service was excellent . I can only recommend.

The tea and food were wonderful but unfortunately the experience was dampened by the rudeness of the hostness -she was rude about how we made our way with our (small) buggy to get to our table instead of offering to help or guiding us through. She also was disrespectful when we mentioned we had a dairy allergy, implying that we had not mentioned this in advance even though we had messaged them the morning of our visit (granted this was after their 48hour window request because we made our booking only the day before but there was no need to be rude about it). I don't think we'll be coming back for these reasons sadly.

Unfortunately another poor experience of food. Too often there are not enough staff to welcome arrivals so folk are left standing for more than ten minutes. Individual servers are unfailingly polite, welcoming and good at their job; but over stretched by a significantly resourced team. Horrible plastic potted “trees”. Bare walls mean chairs scraping on the floor, crockery sounds and other restaurant noises clash and echo. For an orangery, the absence of design using an abundance of real plants is such a shame.

This is a beautiful space, full of light, wonderfully quiet in the heart of London. But what mediocre food and frankly hostile service! Such a shame. Surely you can do better? As regards the food, perhaps we made a mistake in ordering the set lunch-- though our friend's a la carte dish was also substandard. Afternoon tea might be a nicer choice next time. My gazpacho and risotto had more or less the same ingredients - very lazy cooking, and not much of it. Food took nearly an hour to come to the table. Waiter flatly refused to bring a jug of water to our table, claiming that this was management policy. If true, it is a bad policy. Incidentally the booking line person was also slightly rude, so recruitment may be an issue. Please can you escalate this complaint to your management and the trustees? It's a shame for the beautiful Wallace Collection to be let down by its dining room.

Introduced friends from Edinburgh who were spending weekend in London. Their first visit to The Wallace so we booked to have lunch in the restaurant. Being a sunny day the room was illuminated and looked lovely and welcoming. Staff were attentive and pleasant despite being busy. We were somewhat bemused by people sitting in the area having afternoon tea at 1pm lunchtime However all together a pleasing experience on a Sunday afternoon

Always a lovely setting for afternoon tea. The service was great as always. Well priced but we were all rather disappointed with the cake selection - rather dull & unimaginative especially the banana one which none of us liked.

The location and the ambience of The Wallace Restaurant is great. As was a past experience there a few years ago. That’s why we booked it for Afternoon Tea with a friends. The food was just ok. Nothing spectacular. We weren’t offered more sandwiches, fortunately, because the sandwiches weren’t memorable. And rhetorical cakes were just bad. The staff is friendly but the food isn’t.
