Located in the beautiful historic village of Thorpe Thewles, just off the A177 between Stockton-on-Tees and Sedgefield, The Vane Arms is a stunning recently-refurbished restaurant offering high quality bistro style dishes with a twist on traditional pub classics.

Our focus is on serving the best available ingredients that our team of highly skilled chefs can transform into show-stopping, delicious dishes that are perfect for both special occasions and casual dining, complemented by a thoughtfully curated wine list and drinks menu.

In the summer months, our beautiful garden offers the option of enjoying your meal outside with fantastic views, and we recently created a private dining space packed with traditional character ideal for parties and celebrations.

Great plate of fish and chips, mushy peas were nice as was the tartare sauce. Couldn’t eat all the chips although they were very nice. Will go again… soon

Lovely place to eat, drink, socialise. Sat in the conservatory, lovely setting. Service was great and food was tasty apart from one little issue. We all ordered fish and chips, chips were homemade and delicious, the fish was large and looked good, however the batter was a let down as it was too thick and soft? The fish was really fresh so it's a shame all three meals were spoilt by this.

The staff were pleasant and friendly, we ordered hot shot parmo’s but on arrival they were very greasy with loads of oil running across the plate into the salad and chips spoiling the meal. The burger was okay though. We had sticky toffee pudding for dessert which had obviously been reheated in the microwave which made it rubbery again well below par. We were also overcharged on the bill at the end of the meal which was corrected but won’t be returning again soon.
