New restaurant with good vibe. Excellent waitress. Food was good but would not say it was exceptional.

The Vandiver is a much needed addition to our dining choices in Clayton. The food is different from your traditional steak place. They offer a wide variety of main dishes and generous sides and salads. The desserts are worth saving room for!

We had a wonderful experience. The meals were delicious. We had the prime rib for two and it was prepared perfectly as well as the mashed potato side. Others enjoyed the French Onion soup. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere. We look forward to returning.

Nice bar, good service. Chicken Pot Pie was disappointing-too dry and not chicken. Tomato salad was very good. Calamari excellent. Yummy bread. Trout was good. They were very willing to accommodate special dietary request. Staff very friendly.

Fantastic atmosphere and food! We had a cocktail with dinner that was also amazing. The bartenders know what they are doing and it shows. Nice open space with the dining area above and overlooking the bar and street. I noticed sound proofing on the ceiling, which made it quiet enough so you can carry on a conversation. Staff are all super friendly and welcoming. The menu looks like it has something for everyone and we look forward to trying it all, but I have a weakness for French onion soup and theirs is great! We look forward to becoming regulars and I would for sure recommend giving them a try.

Absolutely excellent food, each dish was superb. Drinks were wonderful and not too sweet.Service was excellent with a friendly staff.

Loved the vibe of the restaurant. Our waitress was really awesome and very attentive! Everyone’s food was flavorful but 3 of our meals came out just warm not hot, which was disappointing. We will come again since I am sure they are still working on timing and getting the kinks out of their processes.

I love this place and will keep you coming back. There were one or two missteps with the food prep, but the flavors were great. The service is attentive and welcoming, and the decor is hip. This is now the best restaurant in Clayton and they have set a high bar!

The Vandiver met and exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere is classic and fun. The food is fantastic. The bartenders are awesome. The service was top notch.
