The Union Bank—affectionately known as "The UB" to locals—is a unique dining destination in the heart of Orange. With its rich heritage charm, it offers a variety of spaces to explore and enjoy.

At the Schoolhouse Restaurant, our flagship dining space, we take all bookings. If you prefer a more relaxed vibe, our stunning courtyard connects all areas and offers the perfect casual setting. While we don’t take bookings for the courtyard, you’re welcome to request it in your booking notes, and if the weather cooperates, we’ll be happy to seat you outside!

For group dining, The UB offers several private spaces, ideal for gatherings of 8 to 40 people. Whether you're hosting a business meeting or celebrating a special occasion, we have the perfect setting for you.

The iconic and heritage listed Union Bank building is spoilt for private event and dining spaces. Whether you're after an intimate private dining room, or the whole Schoolhouse restaurant, we have plenty of options. Spaces include: The Lobby is a small and intimate private dining room for up to 8 guests. The Bank Room is a large private dining room for up to 18 guests. Usually we would give union bank a 5 out of 5, but last night it wasn’t quite up to its usual standard. The staff were a little sloppy, the music was loud and couldn’t hear the person just across from you speak. The food was good but the farmer doug scallops were awful this time (usually a favourite of ours) over cooked on the outside and very oily and then not cooked inside. So last night for Valentine’s Day it was a 3 for us which is sad as usual it’s always been a 5 star experience.

It's always a great experience to have lunch at the Union Bank, the food is great and the menu is interesting with many flavours and combinations that you may not do at home. The staff are friendly and helpful in explaining the meny. On this occasion we were seated inside and thought the air-conditioning to cold but apart from that we again had a great experience. Thank you

Found the menu limiting. Not many choices and not much for a vegetarian. Lovely sitting out in the courtyard

Wonderful food and service. We have always had a great experience dining here. Whether it be celebrating a birthday, anniversary or enjoying the company of friends visiting from Sydney. We always leave feeling very satisfied. Thank you Union bank.

Our second visit, and won’t be our last. Great service and truly wonderful food. Very good wine list, with primarily local wines and craft beers. One of the best meals we have had, with every dish a surprise.

The union bank had a wonderful atmosphere. It was a lovely evening so we sat outside in the garden which had a great ambience about it. The service was very attentive, and the food absolutely delicious. It is a share plate concept and absolutely lovely.
