The Turf has been one of Devon's favourite destinations since 1827.

A Grade-II listed Georgian pub situated on a private peninsula, we can be reached only by foot, bike or boat.

Enjoy our panoramic waterside location with uninterrupted views across the Exe Estuary, Exeter Canal and Powderham Estate. Our unique location provides the ultimate outdoor adventure and immersion in the area's natural beauty - a tranquil haven to relax, unwind and escape.

Whether in our cosy indoor alcoves or extensive garden grounds, feast on a menu that celebrates seasonal produce from the South West's finest suppliers, curated by chef Rob Dawe.

Outdoor booking is only for a timeslot not an actual table. Whole experience has gone downhill since the change of ownership.

We will not visit again, queuing for 20 minutes for drinks is not acceptable. We wanted more drinks with our meal, but didn’t want to wait, instead cycled to Exeter for pudding and nightcap. Great venue ruined by v poor service

My second visit to the Turf. It's such a fantastic spot. Sat outside for about 2.5 hours watching the world go by. Delicious food, highly recommend the prawn/crab open sandwich and the lemon possett. My daugher had the mussels which were also amazing. Food is a very high standard, much more than just your usual pub fare. Love the Turf.

It’s such a fab location. I’ve been going there a couple of times a year for 30+ years. The new (comparatively!) have freshened up the menu and are delivering great food, but otherwise have left most things the same. We were a bit later than usual eating (Englands fault for going to penalties!) and as a result missed out on puddings as the kitchen had just closed. Most places would have advised this on ordering or when collecting our plates from the mains.

I had the Thai chicken which tasted quite bland like the chicken had been added separately to the sauce. The meal was well presented and my friend enjoyed the turf veggie burger. It was a very wet evening so no ambience. I think it may be a different place on a sunny evening and will visit again. Staff were friendly, but didn't offer a dessert, despite being very quiet.

Chicken curry a bit watery , lemon posset came with an inedible biscuit and not shortbread as stated in menu.
