The Turf has been one of Devon's favourite destinations since 1827.

A Grade-II listed Georgian pub situated on a private peninsula, we can be reached only by foot, bike or boat.

Enjoy our panoramic waterside location with uninterrupted views across the Exe Estuary, Exeter Canal and Powderham Estate. Our unique location provides the ultimate outdoor adventure and immersion in the area's natural beauty - a tranquil haven to relax, unwind and escape.

Whether in our cosy indoor alcoves or extensive garden grounds, feast on a menu that celebrates seasonal produce from the South West's finest suppliers, curated by chef Rob Dawe.

My husband’s burger was great my chicken Thai green curry had a lot of vegetables and not much chicken but was tasty. It’s definitely an experience and we would go back.

Great burgers and chips but the tomato sauce with the hake was almost inedible, incredibly acidic and fish was under seasoned. Real shame for the money and such a lovely spot.

It is always a treat to visit The Turf. The landlord, and all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the beer is superb, the food never ever disappoints, everyone is very accommodating and the location is perfect. With good weather, this pub can't be beaten.

Despite being very busy we had a lovely lunch in a truly idilic setting. Staff were rushed off their feet but still smiled and gave good service. Would recommend

Special meal for 6 old friends. Perfect venue. We arrived early and were served early. Great food!

As always Turf was an amazing place to be. You almost feel the history and charm. I was underwhelmed by the belly pork and spent the evening looking at other people's burgers and fish and chips.

We decided to go to the Turf for my wife's birthday. One way of getting there is to kayak down the Exeter Canal. The Turf is at the southern end of the canal. As it was a beautiful warm day we decided to eat out overlooking the canal basin. We started with drinks from the nearby bar and then had some great food - excellent fish and chips, smoked duck salad and a really generous seafood platter. It all worked out so well and we shall definitely go again - perhaps taking the ferry from Topsham.

A lovely old pub in a gorgeous location. Excellent food; great service despite the huge number of diners. My favourite 'cycle to' pub!

Considering the lovely setting for the Turf, we were somewhat underwhelmed by the pub itself which seemed to be no more than average. A missed opportunity.
