Sally, Dave and their team at The Throckmorton, Coughton look forward to greeting you.

Following a major refurbishment in Autumn 2014 under the new ownership, Sally and Dave pride themselves on offering fresh, local, homemade food every day from 9am to 9pm.

The various menus include restaurant quality seasonal dishes from the ‘Chef’s Recommendations’ section through to a great selection of fresh fish and tasty steaks.

Extremely disappointed , Sunday afternoon the restaurant was empty,no ambiance and the waiting staff stood in bar area gossiping ! - Order was taken incorrectly - Food was cold - Stuffing on roast not even cooked When changing the cutlery between courses the young waiter placed them on the table touching the end you eat with when placing them down. We used to love this pub it had been a while since visiting. I can’t believe the change in standard and quality. What a shame !! Definitely will not be returning based on the whole experience. When I complained the front house staff decided to discussed it between themselves in the bar area , smirking, more staff than customers , total disregard,lack of respect and empathy. They took £18:95 of the bill for one roast dinner as if that was a big deal. Just awful customer service.

I booked to eat here seeking somewhere quiet for a nice Sunday roast, and I was not disappointed. The food was fresh, ample, and well presented and the ambience was relaxing. The waiting staff were a credit to the business - sincerely professional, polite and attentive. Will definitely make a return visit.

The last time we went here the food was outstanding but yesterdays was not good. we both had the roast dinner, 1 beef and 1 pulled shoulder of lamb, the beef was so hard to cut i nearly gave up, both the lamb & beef were luke warm. Vegetables were the only hot thing on the plate, minimal gravy - cost was a shock £18 / £20 just for a dinner!!! we had drinks a Bitter shandy and a rose spritzer, the shandy was just a glass of lemonade with a splash of bitter and the rose spritzer had black bits in the bottom of the glass, which i didnt notice until i got the last inch of the drink, the total for this was £71.95 - a very expensive sunday lunch, would i go again - not on your nelly, i cannot believe the change in the food quality and the cost, but the pub was a lot quieter than it was before - i wonder if others have found the same thing

The experience was not as good as it has been in the past, not sure if new management but it was not up to scratch.

Had a lovely early Saturday dinner out on the sun terrace. We had booked a table indoors but as the weather was so nice we asked if we could eat outside. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food arrived in good time and was well presented and a good portion. Also very tasty. Overall good experience and would recommend.

Really disappointing and such a shame as this used to be such good pub. Not sure what’s happened, must be new kitchen staff. Fish and mash was very poor quality. Front of house Staff was lovely tho. Really empty too on a lovely sunny Saturday afternoon. This isn’t a horrible review just a real shame to see once a good pub where the food was outstanding go terribly downhill. We wish you all the best and hope to see it improve really quick.

Always nice for breakfast here comfortable lounge staff always friendly and polite only thing for me is their pieces of toast are abysmal other than that food is good

Overall a bit disappointing the starters were of poor value The fish pie contained only 2 prawns and little fish content This was our 39 th wedding anniversary and thought we would have a lunch after visiting Coughton court The lady who attended to us was very attentive no issues with the service I never say don’t go there have previously had a good experience
