Welcome to the Three Crowns, a beautiful, part-thatched 5-star inn set in the heart of the pretty Dartmoor town of Chagford.

Behind its imposing granite facade, the Three Crowns is a magical mix of 13th century features and contemporary comfort and style. From beamed ceiling and huge inglenook fireplaces, to a glass atrium and stunning courtyard garden, the Three Crowns is a delightful place to enjoy great food and a comfortable stay.

We offer a delicious menu featuring fresh, local seasonal produce, cooked to order by our talented team. We also offer an extensive wine list and a great selection of soft drinks. We have a policy of ‘keeping it local’ and use local ingredients in our dishes and stock local wines and juices. Whether you choose to eat in the cosy, traditional front bar with its log fire and mullioned windows or the stunning light and open glass atrium we are sure you will enjoy your meal.

Great menu with a good variety of options to suit all. Service very prompt and very polite staff. Monkfish and king prawn curry wonderful and the crème brûlée was to die for.

The waitress was lovely, but the landlord or manager was very unfriendly and made us feel quite uncomfortable and unwelcome- he wouldn’t even say goodbye as we left. The food was good, but everything came in individual pots, which made the meal less enjoyable. Booking a table at the Three Crowns was a treat for the final night of our holiday, but we left without having pudding feeling disappointed

Great experience, we were greeted with very friendly and helpful staff. Our meal and service was spot on and the room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely return for another stay

A lovely sunny afternoon in Chagford’s Three Crowns restaurant…it bodes well so far…. And, yes! It succeeds in providing a fantastic seafood sharing platter, accompanied by an excellent couple of glasses of NZ Sauvignon Blanc. The staff/servers were pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. The ambiance perfect. The bill moderate. A great escape from day to day normality!

A quiet Wed with prebooked restaurant On arrival advised that noisy floor cleaning would take place and to sit elsewhere They did sort out a quiet annexe though Great service but food quality mixed
