We went for my wife’s birthday, the afternoon tea was exceptional. The food beautifully prepared and tasted fabulous. With great service as well. There were also some unusual tea blends to have with it, not just the usual breakfast tea. All in all very good, would recommend, the only down side was the loud music being played in the foyer, which intruded on the tea lounge.

Before booking I had emailed the hotel to make sure that the traditional afternoon tea (as shown on their website) was still available, not the new tea and tales version. I was told if I made a note when booking that this would be fine, which I did. On arrival at the hotel at the appointed time no staff were in the vicinity, after waiting I went to reception and someone was summoned. I asked them if we could have the traditional afternoon tea and was told this was not available. The tea and tales is vastly overpriced, with the compulsory service charge coming in at £130 for tea for two with no alcohol. In retrospect I wish I had gone to browns restaurant as cross the road where a better tea and experience can be had for around half the price!

The food was absolutely amazing but I was a little disappointed by the ambience. There was one particular group of business people playing promotional media on a laptop for all in the Den to hear. This is definitely not becoming of a serene and relaxing environment.

We booked a table in The Den for pre theatre drinks and bar snacks and it didn't disappoint! A cosy room with striking decor and quirky wall displays. I'd had a stressful day and arrived feeling tired and jaded. Ana and Eriko were very helpful, friendly and efficient. They couldn't do enough for us and they had a lovely manner. A real asset to the organisation and I soon forgot the woes of the day! We enjoyed our cocktails and snacks and made our way to the Garrick in good time for the performance. This modern hotel is in a perfect position for pre-theatre food and drink. I would definitely recommend it

Really lovely, friendly, warm service. We had a cup of tea in wonderful china and the yummiest pudding !! Lovely stop before we went to the Theatre
