Welcome to The Tempus at Charlton Hall Estate.

AFTERNOON TEA, please note, please use the afternoon tea experiences. This booking section is for lunch or dinner only. Thank you.

Whether you are joining us for lunch, afternoon tea, or dinner, we present an array of enticing menus for your pleasure. Our à la carte menu highlights the finest local talent and ingredients, while our afternoon tea features an elegant assortment of delectable sweet and savoury delights.

Well behaved 4 legged friends are very welcome until 7pm in our bar.

Lunch service from 12pm – 4.45pm Wednesday - Saturday.

Afternoon tea – 2.45pm – 4.30pm Wednesday – Saturday.

A la carte dining from 5pm daily.

Sunday lunch from 12pm.

Our bar and snug is open all day, daily, for coffee, tea, drinks and bar snacks.

Please note that we offer Afternoon Tea every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Pre-Booking is required no later than 48 hours ahead of your booking. Please use experiences section.

Say hello to Afternoon Tea at The Tempus! (Hey Parents, we are also offering a Children's Afternoon Tea, treat your little munchkins for £19.95, just let us know how many children in the party in the notes!!!!) Indulge in a mouth-watering selection of delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and a delicious array of miniature cakes and pastries. However we do require 48 hours notice as everything is prepared on the day for you. Our brand-new menu has been carefully designed by our very own pastry chef, Catherine Smith, using freshly sourced ingredients from Northumberland and the Borders. Need we say more? Afternoon Tea will be served every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Pre-booking is required 48hrs before.

Beautiful setting and lovely decor. Had afternoon tea which was delicious but I think a bit expensive for what it is. Ambience was nice but choice of music sometimes not altogether appropriate. Service was reasonably friendly and efficient although at times a bit difficult to get someone’s attention. Will definitely visit again for a main meal.

We went for Afternoon Tea and it was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately we could not eat it all but the waitress very kindly gave us a box to take the remainder home.. We were made very welcome and the service, and food was second to none. We had a wonderful afternoon.

Stayed 2 nights with my partner and everything was absolutely perfect. The rooms are beautiful, the food was exquisite and the scenery delightful. Staff are so friendly, from the reception welcome to the attentive restaurant and bar staff. Brilliant and well done! Loved it and highly recommend it. Will come again.

Fabulous dining experience. Food was beautifully presented, delicious and great value for money. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The decor is amazing. Would highly recommend a visit.

Excellent, friendly service, beautiful place to be with excellent wine and food. It had everything for everyone. We live about 15 mins away and would definitely consider booking a night here! One of the best all round places I have been.
