The Tavern Underground, the lower level of The Carlin, introduces a tastefully designed, modern-meets-casual take on classic American tavern culture.

We offer limited reservation availability up to 8pm, along with bar seating and tables that are always available first come, first serve. If you're not finding a reservation or have a special request, please call us for assistance, 970-771-3795.

The Tavern Underground is partnering with Outer Range Brewery to bring you a delicious 4-Course paired beer dinner, including new beer from their brewery in the French Alps. Dinner is at 7pm. Pricing is $85 per person. Your $25 deposit holds your spot and will be credited toward your evening. Seating for this dinner will be communal. We will do our best to honor seating preferences. Everything was great! We showed up with 13 people, knowing it may take awhile, but Sam did an amazing job getting everything right out and the food was great!

This was our first visit; it won’t be the last. They can make any drink; the hummus was spicy & delicious. The tomato soup w/ grilled chess was upgraded comfort food. The burger was large & tasty. Sam I am was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Really enjoyed our time at the Tavern Underground. At times service felt a little weird, but overall had a really great experience here and definitely recommend a visit!

this was our second visit to this wonderful restaurant. Just like the first time, the food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambience was really nice. This is now a regular place for us to go and to take visitors. I highly recommend the Cajun french fries, they’re incredible.

Super cool environment and delicious food. Our party of 6 ate in the “mafia booth” and it was fun. We all got different food items and all were excellent. They also had some really delicious cocktails and mocktails. A standout food item were the Cajun spiced French fries. We ordered a plate of them to share but they were so delicious I could have eaten them all myself.

Amazing service and ambiance! Food was great, but a limited menu. A few more healthy-ish options would make it amazing! We reserved an outdoor table, but thinking ahead, the staff had an amazing table for us when we came in during a downpour. Again, amazing service!

Sat outside on the patio. Ambiance from the fire was nice. Had an interesting cocktail and a burger. Both were delicious.
