Welcome to our British restaurant and pub, with gardens, in the picturesque countryside of Cornwall, between Truro and Newquay. We offer sustainable British pub food, with a luxury approach. It’s a simple offering but really showcases the best of produce from in and around Cornwall. Our Sunday lunch is perfect to come and enjoy with your friends and family (and your dogs are more than welcome too!).

Such a beautiful setting as you walk up to the front door. Staff were friendly and inviting, we had some lovely conversations with the young man who served us. He went above and beyond to make our experience a fabulous one. The food was outstanding. We had snacks of Bon Bon’s prawns and bread, then onto our mains of steak, hake and the shellfish linguine. All delicious!! Finished off by the kings trifle!! I sampled the garden spritz cocktail which was Devine. An amazing experience we can’t wait to return.

This was probably the best food we have had in the whole of Cornwall. EVER! So much better than the hyped up Rick Steins from our visit to the Cornish Arms the night before. A million miles better. We had oysters, cocktails, wine, Lobster tart starters amongst others then I had the lamb for main and deep fried Mars Bar desert with a wine pairing. Just delightful. Such great value for money too. Adam, please don’t hike up the prices! we loved the Frog in London (even at London prices) but don’t change these Cornwall pub food holiday prices. Everyone needs to experience your food to realise there is so much over priced rubbish out there. This is food with flavour. Well done kitchen team!! Also the staff were delightful. Specially Jonny. Thanks for your explanations and info. So onto the interior, LOVE LOVE LOVE! Artwork is sublime, dried flowers gorgeous and seating very comfy and well spaced. We will be back. Maybe tonight ;-)

Welcoming, knowledgeable staff, went out of their way to make a special cocktail for us. Garden lovely, inside tastefully decorated. Service exceptional, food delicious, flexible dining options, prompt service. Was even better as the restaurant is only 12 minutes away from me. Suggestion: maybe a specials option. Also great that its dog friendly.

A perfect setting, attentive greeting on arrival, especially using first names. The menu was superb and after choosing cocktails and starters, they arrived in tandem which was outstanding service. The mixed oysters were that good that we ordered a second serving before mains. We certainly will be returning very soon. A great big thankyou.

As fans of Adam Handlings restaurants, we were keen to visit the Tartan Fox, which is s short drive from our home. Our first visit was a table for 2 upstairs. Front of house service was friendly & attentive by experienced employees but unsurprisingly for a start up quite nervous by new staff. There was an excessive delay for food to arrive and the lamb course consisted of two very small mouthfuls of lamb with a substantial rim of fat plus a portion of white beans & small spoon of crushed peas. The pie & mash course was well flavoured and satisfying. Desserts were enjoyable and a good standard. Unfortunately the close proximity of a very noisy inebriated table of six meant we couldn’t hear one another so couldn’t converse and relax over our meal which was not the restaurants fault. We will give it another try in the future & reserve a downstairs table, which appeared more intimate.

Staff were fantastic. For the price we paid for the steaks they weren’t particularly good, and they came sliced which I don’t like. Bit over cooked too. Chips were a bit over cooked. My masala fries were nice. Hash browns were amazing, but I’m not sure at £21 for 2 that it’s great value. Cheese doughnuts were nice. Probably would have been okay with meal if it didn’t cost £120 odd for two of us.

Great pub/restaurant. Food was super tasty , staff were very friendly and decor was on point. Perfect for all occasions, great wedding venue setting too!
