Established in 1985, and located on Raglan Street, just off Princess Square in the heart of Harrogate, The Tannin Level is one of Harrogate's best loved and most renowned restaurants. Known for its wines (its name is a wine term after all!) as well as its food, it has garnered an enviable reputation amongst the towns sophisticated 'foodies'. The Tannin Level has a certain style and an unmistakable elegance, and its many original features combine to create the unique Tannin Level ambience.
The food is modern British with a Tannin Level twist, utilising only the very best seasonal ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible. As you might expect, all our food is freshly prepared by our chefs, which also means that if you have any special requirements, we can usually oblige. We look forward to welcoming you to the Tannin Level!

Four old friends meeting in Harrogate. Chose the Midweek menu. Excellent value and the food was delicious. Could not fault any of the dishes. Service was great. Only downside? Table across from ours was loud. But would certainly come back.

My friend and I visited on a Thursday while spending a few days in Harrogate. We arrived at around 6pm and it was quiet with a few tables. We were met and quickly sat at our table. The place is larger that I thought but cosy with a nice feel and ambience. We were give some water while we looked at the menus. Our drinks arrived and we ordered our food. The restaurant soon filled as the evening progressed. We never felt rushed and it was a pleasant evening with lovely food and attentive but not overwhelming staff. We will certainly return on our next visit to Harrogate

Meeting up with girl friends is always good and we had a wonderful time together at The Tannin Level. Yet again!

Didn’t leave one bit of food !! Could have eaten it all again maybe portions could be a tad bigger !

We enjoyed a lovely three course meal at the Tannin Level to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Each course was very well presented and the quality of the food was excellent.

We had a good meal and the service was fine. BUT when we were leaving one of the waiters SHOUTED from the bar to the door “ Have you paid?”” so that other diners could hear. Far from discrete. That was embarrassing!!!
