Established in 1985, and located on Raglan Street, just off Princess Square in the heart of Harrogate, The Tannin Level is one of Harrogate's best loved and most renowned restaurants. Known for its wines (its name is a wine term after all!) as well as its food, it has garnered an enviable reputation amongst the towns sophisticated 'foodies'. The Tannin Level has a certain style and an unmistakable elegance, and its many original features combine to create the unique Tannin Level ambience.
The food is modern British with a Tannin Level twist, utilising only the very best seasonal ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible. As you might expect, all our food is freshly prepared by our chefs, which also means that if you have any special requirements, we can usually oblige. We look forward to welcoming you to the Tannin Level!

Went here for a family meal. Menu was good and food was excellent. Lovely atmosphere and staff very attentive. Great find, would definitely go there again.

Once again the tanning level delivered on all aspects, there is a reason why it's is the restaurant 40th year this year! It's a very special place and definitely the best restaurant in Harrogate and surrounding area. Ellie and the team are brilliant. Stephen & Jess

This place truly stands out as a gem in our town. Each member of our group remarked on the exceptional quality of the food, as well as the warm welcome and outstanding service we received. The team and chef exemplifies understated quality, making it a must-visit and support destination for anyone looking for a wonderful dining experience.

Great dinner at the tannin level, very attentive service and a nice cozy atmosphere. We had the venison and the Ox cheek and both were delicious.

Lovely place to enjoy superb food and enjoy a meal in a nice setting. Excellent service, food hot and tasty and great value.

We expected small portions with it being the 3 course for £20 offer but were blown away by the quantity and quality. Every course was cooked to perfection and served hot (take note those restaurants that obviously leave food on the pass longer than it should be). The chilean white was wonderful. Serving staff were all really pleasant and not intrusive. The only star losing points were: The bench seat we were on was a little uncomfortable after sitting for a while - long legs and short bench seats don’t mix too well). The coffee tasted and looked like it came from a general machine rather than a proper barista type machine. Given the excellent food it was a bit of a let down to have a not very good coffee to finish. We will definitely be back especially as they do a daily two courses offer.
