Established in 1985, and located on Raglan Street, just off Princess Square in the heart of Harrogate, The Tannin Level is one of Harrogate's best loved and most renowned restaurants. Known for its wines (its name is a wine term after all!) as well as its food, it has garnered an enviable reputation amongst the towns sophisticated 'foodies'. The Tannin Level has a certain style and an unmistakable elegance, and its many original features combine to create the unique Tannin Level ambience.
The food is modern British with a Tannin Level twist, utilising only the very best seasonal ingredients, locally sourced wherever possible. As you might expect, all our food is freshly prepared by our chefs, which also means that if you have any special requirements, we can usually oblige. We look forward to welcoming you to the Tannin Level!

Food lovely. Waiter a bit too friendly - calling 82 year old mother darling? Slightly odd! Also charged for 2 bottles of wine - only had one. As I looked up from the bill they were looking at me saying sorry we know we have it wrong. Don’t like that. May have been an error, may have been deliberate.

Nice food although limited menu. Slightly expensive, good portion size. Negative was very sticky table, perhaps from what ever they used to clean them with

Absolutely amazing, the during the week early bird special is such amazing value for money. Although I have to say we both agreed the food was so great we would have happily paid the full menu pricing!!

It's great to find a restaurant with an imaginative menu and a chef who knows how to cook everything to perfection. The service was excellent! The Early Bird menu is incredible value and we will certainly be visiting again soon.

Our “go to “ restaurant for special occasions and last night, the food was incredible. Took our relatives who were visiting and they have asked that when they are next in Yorkshire, that we must go again. The nights Special was probably the best main course I have eaten. Highly recommended, don’t miss out on a hidden gem!

The food was very good but the portion size of my husband’s crab starter was ridiculous! Literally a well presented, single mouthful for £13. A shame because my own starter was lovely. The “local” beer was also ridiculously expensive at £5.95 for a 330 ml bottle.

Had a lovely meal here celebrating a 60th birthday. Had the table for the evening, and the food and timing of course was spot on.
