The Sword Inn Hand is a 14th Century Free House with guest rooms nestled in the beautiful rural Hertfordshire village of Westmill, a mile south of the market town of Buntingford. With bar, dining room, mature landscaped gardens and charming country inspired guest rooms, it is the perfect countryside retreat for drinking, dining and relaxing. Seasonal produce is delivered to us daily by our fantastic local suppliers, and we pride ourselves on serving delicious fine food and traditional ales. Our friendly yet professional customer service and warm, relaxing atmosphere inspires our lovely customers to return week after week, and welcomes new visitors from far and wide. Owner, Jeremy Lee and his fantastic team look forward to making your visit a special one to remember.

The food ordered was very good but we had to send back the vegetables as they were not cooked enough. Unfortunately they weren’t much better 2nd time around this spoiled what would have been a very good meal.

Good menu and wine list, promptly served. The ingredients were excellent and mainly from local sources. The pub is attractive with cosy spaces.

First time visiting and definitely won’t be the last. Really buzzing atmosphere, fantastic service and food was delicious. One of the best meals I have had for a long time. Well done and thank you

The service is outstanding as you can see they work so well as a team and couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. The food is excellent quality and generous portions. The choice is a little restrictive as the mains are very focused on the traditional pub offerings (sausage & mash, scampi, fish & chips, etc) but is delivered incredible well in terms of presentation and quality of ingredients. We went on a Friday evening and we found the dining area noisy but there are areas within the pub which are quieter that I’m sure you can request.
