The Sword Inn Hand is a 14th Century Free House with guest rooms nestled in the beautiful rural Hertfordshire village of Westmill, a mile south of the market town of Buntingford. With bar, dining room, mature landscaped gardens and charming country inspired guest rooms, it is the perfect countryside retreat for drinking, dining and relaxing. Seasonal produce is delivered to us daily by our fantastic local suppliers, and we pride ourselves on serving delicious fine food and traditional ales. Our friendly yet professional customer service and warm, relaxing atmosphere inspires our lovely customers to return week after week, and welcomes new visitors from far and wide. Owner, Jeremy Lee and his fantastic team look forward to making your visit a special one to remember.

The food was excellent as always and thank you to all of the staff for looking after us. They are all polite, efficient, and hard working. The atmosphere is relaxing and we were also able to take our two dogs.

A fabulous lunch at this charming pub in a delightful East Hertfordshire village. Hard to decide what to choose from the well thought out menu but very happy with our choices (Chicken Schnitzel and Sausages with Baron Bigod & onion mash). Service was excellent too and the pub was nicely busy with a good level of chat from other tables. An all round great experience - thank you!

We’ve always been very impressed with the sword inn hand but the service was not good this time. Our main course was slow in coming and we had to ask for our plates to be cleared about 20 minutes after we had finished our main course due to lack of attention by the normally great staff. Won’t be rushing back.

Great experience for my son's bday - they had written him a bday card and put a candle is his dessert. Lovely food as always. Would highly recommend.

Delicious home made ham hock pie gorgeous assortment of fresh vegetables. So full but did manage to squeeze in a few mouthfuls of syrup sponge pudding…. Lovely sociable staff such a friendly pub! Thank you

We had a wonderful evening the food was great and the staff very tentative though not intrusive will definitely be going back.
