Very pretty pub with a lovely atmosphere. Service was good. We had nibbles which were very good followed by the roasts which were somewhat disappointing given the high price point that you expect with the area.

Gastropub cuisine executed to perfection. Fish and chips are the best in London. Sticky toffee pudding a must have to complete a most memorable meal in a beautiful dining room. Service was kind, courteous and superb. Strong selection of ales and lagers to quench the thirst. Overall an exceptional culinary experience. Manager was very hospitable and made us feel at home on this visit from Northern California.

Food was very enjoyable and well presented. Excellent burrata and salad nicoise, tuna and egg cooked exactly as we requested. Friendly staff made us feel welcome. It was very noisy when we visited because of a wedding party on a large table by the door. All friendly and happy but noisy, we couldn’t really talk to each other as we had difficulty hearing over the noise. Table not the best as it was next to the loos. Having said that I will return as the food and wine were good and the other side of the bar seemed to have a good atmosphere.

Nice cosy pub…👌🏼Need more lagers on the tap also may be an alternative wheat beer ( Hoegarden and/or Kronenburg Blanc) would be perfect…

Exceptional, friendly service, they couldn't have done more to ensure we had a great time. Cocktails were lush! Roasts were great, only suggestion would be more adding a bit more seasoning to the gravy and the veg for even more deliciousness. Will be back.

The Surprise is my favourite pub in London, they really do set a very high standard for the competition. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, the food is excellent and they have a really good selection of wines.
