A restaurant that celebrates the splendour of British seafood and produce from local farms.

We are delighted to use the finest of local producers, farmers, and growers of the region. Seafood will always remain our focus. Oysters from Pinneys of Orford, fresh fish from Wightman based in Lowestoft, as well as meat from Salter & King in Aldeburgh, we are incredibly lucky to work with the best.

Fifth or sixth visit in the last couple of years. If there's a better restaurant in this part of the world, I'd like to know about it. Superb food, superb produce, great service and a lovely space in which to spend some time.

Lovely dinner at The Suffolk, thoughtful, attentive but not obtrusive service. Fabulous fish, can’t wait to come back and have an aperitif on the terrace before dinner!

We have visited this restaurant a number of times over the last few years. Food and service very good. Only criticism would be the wine list is quite expensive but that seems to be happening everywhere. If you want a good dinner in Aldeburgh I would recommend this restaurant.

We received a warm welcome and the food was delicious. The cheese souffle could have been a bit more cheesy. This was our third visit to the restaurant and we will return!

We had read several glowing reviews of The Suffolk and were looking forward to dining there - our one restaurant meal this holiday. It is expensive as well as being highly regarded, so our expectations were high. On the whole, the food did meet these expectations. Our starters of beetroot gazpacho and scallops were delicious. We pushed the boat out and ordered the brill, which was ample and cooked to perfection. The chips were good, but we were underwhelmed by the accompanying salad. We shared a summer berry pavlova, which we very much enjoyed. However, our coffee was barely drinkable - something was not right about it. There were other small things that prevented this from being the top-end experience we had hoped for: my husband's cocktail was warm and flat; the bottles of sparkling water were also warm; my AF beer was flat; the waiter forgot to bring spoons for my starter and our pudding; the service, whilst friendly enough, was somewhat nonchalant. We were a bit disappointed.

Delicious food as ever, perhaps the best we have had. Good portion sizes but depth of flavour and quality of ingredients were superb On this occasion our starters were quick to arrive but there was over an hour’s wait for the next course; we had to ask for them in the end. Disappointing where otherwise the place remains excellent.

The food was excellent although my starter of scallops was a little meagre, I had Halibut as mains with a seared hispi cabbage with a cheese topping; the fish was excellent as was the veg but with the standard cutlery the hispi was difficult to cut. My wife had oysters followed by Scallops which she thoroughly enjoyed. Deserts were both Pana Cota and were wonderful. The Restaurant had only a few tables seated as it was early evening, but we were all seated in the same area next to each other which made it quite noisy and as I have hearing issues, made conversation with my wife challenging. Perhaps spreading out the table use could be considered.
