Very friendly host welcomed us as if he knew us (well, we did have a reservation 😉, but we were an hour late due to traffic jams). The server was prompt and courteous, drinks were served with little delay, and the food was delicious. The surroundings were very pleasant, looking much like a German Cafe. Our visit was a wonderful experience.

We love this place! The food is awesome and the service is fantastic! The pork shank was delicious. Highly recommend. Valet parking makes it easy!

It never disappoints. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The hardest part is picking a beer because they're all so good. Side note - if you're planning to get the lobster special on Friday, you have to reserve it in advance. I understand why they do it, but it's not immediately clear that you need to if you haven't gotten the special before.

Been dining at the “Fort” my entire life. Always enjoy my meals there but sure long for the days when there was a larger menu with more authentic German dishes. Realizing that the masses probably aren’t German foodies, I don’t blame the owners for Americanizing the menu a bit. The food and facilities are a staple and respite for a community that has deteriorated around it. Sadly Springfield is the MA stepchild and thus it’s unlikely the community will ever be as good again as the Fort has remained all these years. Keep up the great work to the Fort Staff!

I never did brunch here. My friend and I enjoyed our meals. Fish tacos and Brussel sprout omelette were ordered. The food was tasty and fresh. Shelly is such a kind waitress and helpful. Overall, whenever I dine here I feel so comfortable. Great service, amazing staff, and great food.

Another great meal at The Fort - Student Prince. The place was hopping for a mid-Friday afternoon. From the fried camembert cheese & giant pretzel to the Friday fish & chips special and salads with salmon, everyone was delighted with their food. And the authentic German ambiance and decor always adds something special to the overall experience. Despite being busy with regular diners and also a special event, the service was very good as well. Already looking forward to a return visit!

Amazing lunch at Student Prince. Their 3 course lunch is an amazing deal and worth getting. All the food we had was cooked perfectly. Tableside Roquefort dressing is a must have if you like blue cheese. Just thinking about our lunch makes we want to go back again, despite the long drive for me to get there.
