The origin of The Story Café emerged from the mantra “There is a story in everything”
So in 2018 when we fell upon a 30 year old warehouse, we saw the potential to transform the abandoned space into a warm, hospitable, unique eatery. Through consistent innovation, research and dedication we managed to blend our affinity for coffee, music, food and antique into a ambient mélange of vintage and nostalgia. Today, we proudly present our eatery to newcomers and are considered a staple in the Richmond community!

This is my new favorite restaurant. I was there with my wife for an anniversary dinner. We ordered only appetizers and charcuterie board. Unbelievablely delicious and the price did not break the bank at all. We ordered two drinks. The double caeser was superb. The steak bites, rib-eye, were so tender and delicious that we ordered a second platter and ate that for dessert. In between, we enjoyed the large charcuterie board. Fine cheeses, meat, blueberries, strawberries, and pickled cauliflower. Delicious. We also ordered the shrimp and scallops. I haven't eaten scallops this good. Cooked to perfection. We also ordered the shrimp cocktail. Perfectly served and the cocktail sauce was delicious. The ambience was pThis is my new favorite restaurant. I was there with my wife for an anniversary dinner. The professional waiter was excellent, calm, on time, and had pictures ready for us to view of the menu items. The bus boy was also very professional. He described each piece of food to us perfectly and with much knowledge. It's so nice to know that we can eat such fine food for such a fine price. Thank you.

The hostess is not welcoming at all. No acknowledgement nor a smile to us while we waited for her to count the 4 menus she needed and brought us to our table. Our server is way better, very cheerful with polite manners. Food is a meh. The ambience is nice. Don't think I'll come back again.

Went for dinner with girlfriends. All of our meals (lamb, duck, pork) were outstanding. The service was excellent, food arrived quickly, and the ambience was perfectly low key . And the cheesecake - wow! Highly recommend, very cosy on a cold rainy evening.

This is the second time I've been to The Story Cafe and both times have been outstanding. My second visit this time around had live music which further elevated the experience of my girlfriend's and I anniversary dinner. We indulged on the fall menu for our visit and it was spectacular with my favourite certainly being the butternut and mushroom linguine, but the apple tart for dessert is certainly worth the mention for being quite delectable - not too sweet, and highlights the natural tartness of the apple quite well. There was a slight miscommunication with the kitchen regarding the number of tarts we had ordered, and the serving staff was quite quick to remedy the issue, and even going to so far to offer a complimentary cheesecake for the trouble. We will definitely not hesitate to come back again for the excellent wait staff, ambience and amazing food for another special night out.

we were disappointed. The risotto was undercooked, with hard rice, and even after we informed the waitress, it didn’t improve. We felt like our concerns weren’t taken seriously, as we were left with the same poor-quality dish. To make matters worse, despite still having food on our plates, the waitress kept asking if we were done every ten minutes, making us feel rushed and unwelcome. It felt like they wanted us to leave rather than providing a comfortable dining experience. I won’t be returning. last night was celebrate my friend birthday, but it was very bad experience, i liked story cafe before, but i wont go anymore.
