My guest and I were so disappointed with the entire evening. My guest is in a wheelchair, we were surprised to see the parking lot was torn up, so no way could we park in it. Parked across the street, getting across the street was an adventure in itself. Once we arrived and entered Stonehouse Restaurant, we were notified we had the option of eating by ourselves or eating out back since the main dining room was upstairs and no elevator. This was very disappointing. We made our way to the back patio which was nice. We waited and waited for service, if they had been busy that would be understandable! I finally flagged down our waiter who was totally clueless. Finally, we received our drinks, once again we needed to flag down our server to order appetizers. They arrived in a timely fashion. We had the peppers, baretta crostini, and olives. Once again, we needed to flag down our server to order dinner. I had the Filet Mignon, and he had the Halibut. The steak was flavorless, and the sauce served with it was blah! The halibut was cooked nicely but definitely nothing to write home about. Overall, this restaurant was definitely not worth going back to. The best part was the cute cave you could go into off the back patio. Not a Michlin star worth restaurant. And to top it off they charged me twice for an item.
The Stone House - Nevada CityA répondu le 2 septembre 2024Thank you for your review. As difficult as it is to hear, we take these reviews as a valuable learning experience and utilize them as training on our nightly line-up with staff to ensure everyone feels welcome and well taken care of in our historical building. All of the small businesses in our area are feeling the impact of the construction, and we are so sorry this was how your evening out began. We hope you will give us another try in the future.
