    We ate here twice over New Yeras. First night at bar upstairs. Had great service from Nate and a very good meal. I had a NY Strip and my wife had the salmon. Both were great. I would suggest splitting the salads if you order one as they are large. Steaks include two sides and a sauce, so pricing is very fair. New Yeras Eve ate downstairs. Reservation was at 7 and checked in about 6:40 and were told table would be ready on time. Unfortunately, people at our table were slow and got seated at 7:25. While waiting manger brought us a flute of champaign and apologized for the delay. Food again was excellent as my wife did a repeat and I had a filet. Coconut shrimp as an appetizer was very good. Service was perfect. If you are eating downstairs, you should make a reservation as not a large restaurant.

    We live in Paso and decided to stay at the Inn to get out of the house for New Year's Eve, enjoy the downtown activities, and avoid driving. First I'd like to give all the staff a shout-out for their courtesy and service. I also thank House Manager Kevin for his professionalism, attentiveness, and desire to have everything go as planned. Rather than griping about what didn't occur, I would like to mention some ideas for the future that might be helpful. 1. When booking dinner reservations on special occasions like NY Eve, include a statement that clarifies booked parties are limited to specific # hours at the table (unless there are delays due to staffing or kitchen error). It is not unusual to see this in restaurants, and it limits people making reservations who bogart the table the whole evening. 2. Rethink your parking. The restaurant parking area is small. It is also used by folks who are not restaurant patrons and as an overflow for hotel guests. The Valet parking is on the other side of the building, and the process is not straightforward. 3. The areas to be used for Valet parking need to be marked as "Valet Parking Only"; otherwise, they are open to anyone parking without pause. In some cases, I witnessed ... non-hotel/restaurant guests parking. 4. Have someone assigned explicitly to quality check any food that is ready to leave the kitchen when you have new teams working together and/or working under the additional stress of a backed-up restaurant and unhappy guests who have waited and want their food "NOW". Perhaps send out complimentary (and easy-to-prepare) appetizers to bide some time. Many folks will tolerate a little more time if they feel acknowledged. I appreciate how difficult it is to please everyone, and it may never happen. And you can always improve.

    We have eaten at the Paso Steakhouse several times and liked their consistency with their food. However, last night was a disappointment. My husband and I ordered the prime rib, but started with their roasted brussel sprouts appetizer. The brussel sprouts were delicious. However, the prime rib was tough, flavorless, and arrived lukewarm. My husband ate his, but I could barely eat it. I did eat the baked potato and roasted asparagus, which were both fine. Once our food was delivered, our waitress never came by to check on us. We were only drinking water, and she never came back to refill my husband's empty water glass. The manager was walking around the room, but he did not notice that my meal was barely touched until my husband was completely finished. He then asked if there was a problem, and we explained the issues with the prime rib. He apologized and said he would take care of things. The waitress finally came back with the check, but never mentioned any problems with the food. The manager had taken my meal off the bill, which we appreciated. In the end, we were very disappointed with the food. I really wanted to like the meal because I like the Paso Robles Inn, which was recently renovated and has kept its historic charm intact. With so many good restaurants in Paso Robles, I doubt we will return to the Paso Steakhouse.

    Very good food but you could tell the restaurant is hurting for servers. We sat with empty water and wine glass for 15 minutes as our server passed us by several times. Recommend this place for the food but be aware service might be lacking a tad

    We had a drink in the bar before our meal. We were able to be seated early. Our waiter was awesome. He answered all our questions. The food was delicious and well prepared. We both had prime rib that was prepared to our liking. We did not do dessert as we were very full. Our table looked out over the park with all the Christmas lights and decorations. A very nice evening and experience. We will be back.

    Made reservations based on diner menu, only to be limited to the Christmas menu. Hostess and server both said it was chef’s choice leaving me to settle for something I really didn’t want. We should have left.

    This is our second time bringing our family for Christmas dinner. Our first experience was amazing. I was told the restaurant was sold to a corporation. Our experience yesterday definitely revealed a change in service and food quality. We waited one and a half hours after being seated to actually receive our entrée, the food that we received was called and had to be sent back. I informed the manager, and he told me he’s not from the area and was just here temporarily to help. He offered no solution and no compensation for our problems. We had a very poor experience and I would not recommend this to anyone.

    When I was booking this, it said the steakhouse at the Inn at Paso Robles. It was a prefix and it was at a time slot only one available, which was fine. I get there. I am not in the steakhouse. I am out in another building. It’s a buffet. It was very disappointing And the service wasn’t that great. The food was cold. I had to call someone who was quite nice, but although the food was good, it was cold even when they restarted the heaters on the sterno buffet servers, but nonetheless, it was the idea of me signing up, thinking I was going to the steakhouse And then I’m taking out a back door to go to another building to a buffet never do that again
