The Statler is an American Bistro and Cocktail Bar nestled into the heart of Downtown Detroit's Entertainment District. The Statler offers classic cuisine with a slightly modern twist, catering to both adventurous and traditional diners alike. Our menu was created by Certified Master Chef Daniel Scannell, modeling a French Bistro. The Statler delivers a world class Gastro and Mixology Bar and Formal Dining Room Experiences. Enjoy a Smoked Old Fashioned with Suntory Japanese Whiskey and Crispy Calamari, and Friends during Happy Hour, then a Bottle of Faust Cabernet Sauvignon with Braised Short Ribs and Family in our Dining Room. The Statler is within walking distance from venues like Comerica Park, Ford Field, Detroit Opera House, Fox Theatre, Little Caesar’s Arena, and more. The Statler offers FREE PARKING for 3 hours while dining in the restaurant which is located underground and inside (call for instructions or ask the Valet attendant for directions).

We had the best time at dinner! Everything was wonderful (food, service, playlist, etc.). The restaurant even had a bottle of champagne chilling to celebrate my new job!

We felt very welcomed by the host Michael who provided the parking details we were glad to have due to the congestion that was in the area. After being seated the service provided by was outstanding. Her suggestions were very much appreciated and we enjoyed our selections.

Our first time at the Statler. Celebrated our 278 year anniversary. The service was excellent very attentive. Waitress Ella the Manager Michael and another Manager that I failed to get his name were awesome. The food was very good my only disappointment was they do not serve Ribeye Steaks however everything else was delicious. Calimari, Braised ShortRibs and a potato in some type of sauce was to die for. We had an absolutely wonderful time celebrating our wedding anniversary! From start to finish our waitress, Veronica, was AMAZING!! She gave us great recommendations and made sure our visit was top tier. We’ll definitely be back!

Our 47th wedding anniversary dinner at The Statler French American Bistro in downtown Detroit was wonderful! We were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne upon being seated. The food and wine pairing menu selection we chose was absolutely delicious and on point. The service at the restaurant was excellent! The greeter and waitress were fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with the beautiful comforting design of the restaurant to the "how did you get my play list" music we heard that night. We definitely will be returning to The Staler French American Bistro in the future.

The Statler could be a really nice place with a bit of tweaking. For the price point I expected a little less of a casual environment which is how it felt. The cocktails are just average - should be chilled better - seems like the bar staff was doing double duty - I get it everyone is short staffed. Timing between courses is odd - especially as dessert took a long time to come. My husband said his bouillabaisse was good - all properly cooked. Mine was not. Service was generally very good - the wait staff are friendly but super busy.
