Leonard Wilfred Davies, born 19 December 1906, started a butcher's dynasty now four generations old. His butchers typical cheeky sense of humour now lives on through his grandchildren along with his knowledge of butchery.

In 1997 Leonard’s grandson Richard opened The Station Inn, which quickly generated a great reputation for quality steak. With Richard’s son, Ben’s passion and expertise as Head Chef and Butcher, The Station’s dining experience is a true reflection of the families deep passion for serving amazing steak.

20 years on from opening The Station a major upgrade has taken place, which at its core aims to celebrate the families heritage and knowledge of meat. In order to identify your exact preferences the chefs help you choose the best cut of beef to cook for dinner. It makes for an unforgettable ‘butchery and dining’ experience.

Simple great quality food, cooked really well. Best pie I've tasted for a long time with real home cooked chips. Interesting restaurant with the backdrop of a butchers.

Stunning meal. Everything with our starter and mains were cooked and prepared to perfection. Best meal we’ve had out in a long while. Definitely recommend

Excellent steaks which were perfectly cooked and friendly service. We have not been here for four years as we are visiting on holiday, but this restaurant still maintains very high standards and is a must visit place.

One of the best steaks we’ve had in a long time. Really friendly staff, attentive and helpful. We had a dog friendly table and they were great with him - they even have their own dog menu! The dog friendly section is away from the main eatery so as not to interrupt other diners which was perfect. The steak was incredible- one of the best we have had. Cooked perfectly with a just right portion size, it was fantastic. Highly recommended

A lovely pub with parking outside, the restaurant was packed, so I'm glad we booked in advance. The food was lovely, no wonder there were so many people! Service was really good even with the numbers, and all the food was great! There was a lot of laughter and people enjoying themselves which made the place so much friendlier! Definitely recommend if you're looking for somewhere to eat around Shrewsbury or Ludlow

Our steaks were cooked to perfection, and were beautifully tender. The service was first class; prompt, pleasant and attentive. We would highly recommend to others.
