Leonard Wilfred Davies, born 19 December 1906, started a butcher's dynasty now four generations old. His butchers typical cheeky sense of humour now lives on through his grandchildren along with his knowledge of butchery.

In 1997 Leonard’s grandson Richard opened The Station Inn, which quickly generated a great reputation for quality steak. With Richard’s son, Ben’s passion and expertise as Head Chef and Butcher, The Station’s dining experience is a true reflection of the families deep passion for serving amazing steak.

20 years on from opening The Station a major upgrade has taken place, which at its core aims to celebrate the families heritage and knowledge of meat. In order to identify your exact preferences the chefs help you choose the best cut of beef to cook for dinner. It makes for an unforgettable ‘butchery and dining’ experience.

This was my third visit to The Station Inn. As before, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. The prices were very reasonable and the portions generous. I would definitely recommend The Station Inn!

Usually always good food here, was a bit disappointed there was no white meat (pork, turkey.chicken) on offer when we arrived at the carvery just beef and lamb, yet 20 minutes after we had our food pork was bought out as a choice which my partner would have preferred to have rather than the beef he had to choose hes not a fan of beef or lamb. In my opinion there should always be a choice of red or white meat. Other than that everything else was lovely.

Friendly and fast service. The food was excellent. Lots of choice. Both our steaks were amazing, cooked perfectly and excellent meat. We will be back next week!

Already stated fantastic so no need to state again. We are frequent customer now and are introducing friends to The Station. We are booked ( directly) to eat there again on August 2nd. Your verification requirement is a hassle!

Amazing food cooked perfectly, dauphinoise potatoes are the best. Pork chop delicious especially with the pepper corn sauce .

We had a great evening in the restaurant as the semi-final of the World Cup was playing in the bar. So we could pop through for updates without joining the excitement. The portions were really large so we felt we had over ordered when everything came. The meat is excellent and the steak particularly so. It did take some time to get a bottle of wine to the table... maybe that was the distraction of the match.

Fillet steaks was requested cooked as Medium rare but was Medium at best. More like Well/medium. Wife said that ladies toilets were dirty and had no hand soap.
