   Our second time at the Starr since it re-opened. Again, an excellent overall experience albeit not just as good as the first time. Service is very good but not quite at the level it needs to be to have premium status. Ordered ribeye steak which was excellent but the mammoth portion chips detracted from the enjoyment. Notwithstanding, without a doubt, by far the best place to eat in Dunmow.

   Food was very nice and the music gave it a lively atmosphere without being too loud. Our only criticism was that the staff were not properly trained. No knowledge of the menu ( and it is not a large menu). It is a mistake to think that staff can be trained on the job. This is not really a criticism of the staff but of the management. Having said that we had a lovely evening and will definitely be back

   I went for a lunch time meal for my birthday with my grandparents, both waitresses were lovely, meal was amazing I had the beef cheek and my grandparents shared the beef short rip which I also tried and both were outstanding. I also got a little birthday plate with a price of chocolate cake and a candle which a lovely touch. 100% recommend

   Very good, just what the town needs, nice to go somewhere to dress up, have a good meal, and enjoy live music

    Huge improvement with the reopening of the starr now as part of a successful group of restaurants. Excellent Sunday lunch with great live music, thoroughly enjoyable. Will definitely be returning.
