I hadn't been to the Star for a while and it was a quiet evening, but we were celebrating a birthday for one of us. We decided to sit outside as it was such a lovely evening and that was no trouble for them. The food was excellent and the service very friendly and efficient and included a small birthday cake. We were using a 20% discount email so the food was also very good value.

Food was ok. Service was a bit slow and unreliable. Also a billing error that we had to ask to correct so room for improvement.

Brilliant as always. The chef really is excellent. Fish dishes are excellent. The staff are lovely. Recommended..

Friendly welcome from helpful staff. Excellent food and service. Only downside low ceilings and adjacent noisy table made it difficult to hear my wife and have a conversation !!!

Had an excellent Sunday roast. Food came very promptly and was probably one of the best roast beefs I have had in a pub.

Delicious meal. Friendly efficient staff. We had a Travelzoo voucher, but on one main course there was a £2 supplement on the menu which wasn’t on the voucher, but the choice was in the offer price range.

Lovely experience ,venue ( outside gazebo) perfect, waitress charming and extremely efficient In every way ,eg sweeping cigarette buts away and sorting out the wasps . Menu excellent and varied and unusual The one downside was that the portions were very small, fine for us but my male family would have gone home hungry, particularly the accompanying vegetables or salad which were minute With a bit more food on the plate it would be perfect. It was very quiet even on Friday lunch time,so I really hope this gem will survive,maybe by reducing prices a little and increasing the meal size it would attract more customers,

Once again, delicious Sunday toast, pork this time, succulent and cooked to perfection. More delicious vegetables making the perfect lunch. Attentive staff,, making sure my wife and I enjoyed our celebratory meal. We are so lucky to have the Star within walking distance from our home.
