The Standard. One of Hamilton's most revered restaurants, has laid down its roots on James St N. With our everchanging menu, seasonal & local inspiration and forward approach to dining, our commitment to excellence shows in everything we do. We strive to provide a memorable experience each day, it is just what we love to do.

From our in house butchery or cooking over charcoal, to working with local suppliers in our community We challenge the way we all think about Food & Drink.

If its a night out with friends, an intimate dinner for two, or just something extraordinary like sitting at our chefs table, We take each day as a new challenge to provide something amazing. It’s a bold statement and that’s why we make it with The Standard.

The food was excellent, service was great. We sat at the bar and had as good a time as you would at a table, and had a fun time chatting with the bar staff. Well recommended.

We had such lovely service at the Standard! They were so accommodating of our group (changing reservation multiple times) and the food was excellent. Server went above and beyond to ensure we were all satisfied. Would definitely recommend!

Great experience. We sat on the patio had great food. Very solid wine list. The focaccia served with thr tartare and mussels stole the show.

Too much to say, because everything was perfect! The service, drinks, ambience, and every dish was fantastic. They also acknowledged we were celebrating our engagement with glasses of prosecco. Can't wait to go again.

Such a lovely dining experience! Jasmine was our server and she was incredible. The food was fantastic. The restaurant is very open, which could create some noise and could be distracting. That said, the table where we were sat still felt intimate and we could carry on conversation easily. Wonderful date spot.
