Located in the leafy area of Bowdon, The Stamford is a modern interpretation of pubs from a bygone era; a social space enjoyed by the local community and visitors alike, serving the wider Altrincham, Hale and Cheshire area.

We offer a fresh food a la carte menu alongside lunch specials throughout the pub and a crowd-pleasing set price menu on a Sunday, including our famous mixed meat roasts. Whether a quick pint or bite after work, a romantic meal for two, a special celebration, or a few hours sat in our sunshine garden at the front, we have space
to accommodate all in this community-focused pub made with love.

We come up from London a few times a year to see family and always have dinner at the Stamford each time. The food is exceptional, the quality is superb and is clearly made with a lot of care. Today I had the most tender roast turkey I have ever had, the whole roast with best I’ve had in a long time. The pricing is reasonable and the staff are just wonderful! We will continue to come and eat at the Stamford! Thank you! ♥️

This beautiful country pub food was excellent. The staff were wonderful and, although very busy, we're more than happy to chat and we're so friendly & helpful 😀

We have been to the Stanford several times and have always had a great experience but this time we were really. The starters were amazing but we ordered two turkey roasts and fish and chips , when the roasts arrived the food was Luke warm and we explained this and was asked what we wanted to do !!! The plates were taken away and obviously were put in a microwave which I understand but the roast potatoes were hard and the Yorkshire puddings were soft as this happens in a microwave .Also there was no stuffing as advertised. All in all we felt there was no one really in charge to make decisions that may have made our experience better.

Much quieter in the restaurant - last Sunday evening we ate in the bar and the noise from the pub quiz was deafening. But we came back for more - lovely food, friendly and efficient service.

Service was slow , had to wait for the custard to go with the pudding then it was cold and had to be sent back . Coffees were also cold and had to be sent back .
