A quaint stay. Lovely room, bed and bed linen was superior. Very comfortable. The food unfortunately was not very nice. The amount of flys in the restaurant is frustrating. Literally flying into your face whilst eating. I had an upset stomach in the morning. Unsure if due to flys being in the kitchen.

When we arrived we were seated at our table straight away. It was my fiancés birthday and he was given a complimentary glass of Prosecco which was a lovely touch. Every single member of staff was friendly, efficient and an absolute breath of fresh air. The food was fabulous, some of the best we have had for a long time. An amazing place with amazing staff who should commended. We will definitely return if we are in Stow again and we couldn’t recommend this wonderful place highly enough. Thankyou to you all for a wonderful evening after a very long drive.

We have been staying in different areas of the Cotswolds for a few years now and decided to try stow on the wold and booked into the Stag,was really pleased in the way we were greeted and shown to our room,perfect for a nights stay,power shower was Amazing..the restaurant/bar was perfect and food delightful,Highly recommend the Stag at Stow…

Good food but not a good welcome. We reserved a table, arrived, were shown our table in the bar area and ordered two drinks. Nothing happened. after maybe 10-15 minutes the guy in charge told us we had to move. He had a couple with a dog that needed to have our table. So we were moved for a dog. We were shown to a table right next to the Ladies toilet, in a dingy back room with no windows. When we asked to move to a table with a bit more light (it was a summer evening) we were told that the rest of the dining area was closed. They had forgotten our drinks order, so we had to order again. We were really on the point of walking out - there are plenty of other pubs/restaurants in Stow. The food was actually quite good, but we ate it in surroundoings with zero ambience. 12.5% is automatically added to your bill, regardless of service quality. I paid it only in the hope that it went to the kitchen staff (there wasn't an opportunity to delete it anyway)

Attentive, friendly service. Food was good. I had the torched smoked salmon starter which was delicious. Portions were good and food was tasty and well seasoned. The chips are lovely here- nice and crisp. Lovely pub. Will be back again!

Was served food with a serving spoon that was "blistering hot" - no warning. Was not asked about food allergies. After the bottled water and wine were opened the servers never poured again. Food was average but over priced. For three people spent over £100 - bread and butter was an additional charge. 15% service fee added to bill. My mistake I didn’t notice before paying or I would have asked for it to be removed. Very over-rated.
