Large beer garden, and with freshly made and cooked Pizzas, cooked in front of you in a stunning Italian Wood Fired Pizza Oven what more could you wish for.

We have used the Stag a few times previously and it has been good. My wifes Chicken dish on this occaison was overcooked and she ate only a very little. Our friends beef chibata was to tough and dry for her to chew and digest. This was changed to a chicken chiabata. The fish gratin that I and another friend had was very nice. What was disapointing was the attitude of the chef who was very negative and was not prepared to listen to what was being said and said that 3/4 of my wifes meal was eaten which was not the case. Whilst in the end we did not pay for my wifes meal the chef insisted that we pay for both chiabatas. The negative attitude of the chef to constructive critism was unprofessional and unwarranred. We will not be eating there again

Lovely food but waited an hour for our starters then another 45mins for main. No apology or did any staff ask if everything was ok with meal which was nearly £300 for 5 adults and a child. We dared not order dessert for fear of waiting further. Pizzas were very nice but needed to be cooked longer, dough was too soft.

Amazing Roast, I WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING!! The veggie option was exactly the same but with a nut roast which was great to see as many restaurants veggie option is totally different. My veggie friend said its the first time they didn't feel envious of our meal! Only criticism which is minor is staff need to be a little more organised, it felt like none had specific jobs and it was a little bit hit and miss, staff were extremely polite and friendly so this is just a tip from a customer more than anything else.

After 1.75 hours we had to leave without having any food. We appreciate restaurants have problems but we would suggest that they tell their clientele when they arrive it may be better to go elsewhere if they are not coping-we would have been far happier than returning home to cook a meal extremely late on a Saturday night. We have always liked the Stag and recommended it to friends -hopefully this was a one off but not sure how quickly we will return.

Booked for a Sunday Roast with our 4 children. We loved the extensive gardens & sat out for a drink before ordering food. The roast dinner was exceptional, lots of flavour and food was plentiful. We could not fault it at all. Everyone had a dessert which were huge, we all left very happy and full. Cant wait to return. Thank you. Highly recommended
