Restaurant closes at 1am,-when making a booking please allow yourself as much time as possible to relax and enjoy your visit.
Outside area-closed at 12am ,which we recommend booking in advance.
Situated in the coastal village of Muchalls, just off the A90, and 10 minutes from Aberdeen and Stonehaven,The restaurant derives its name from the sea stacks located on the beautiful surrounding coastline.

It is brought to you and led by head chef and owner Andy Smart, who’s aim is to offer a flexible and relaxed environment where everybody is welcome.
Dogs are also welcomed too.(we have treats and water bowls for them!)
Dining in a relaxed environment , the food style is seasonal and inventive and draws inspiration from international flavours, whilst using local suppliers, with an emphasis on simplicity, and where the staff are both friendly and professional.

We were there on a Thursday. They do a special menu on Thursdays. Great value for money. The lady in charge is very friendly and helpful.

Excellent menu. Really imaginative knowledgeable and well executed. We were stuck in a drab corner and forgotten about. But the dining room was really busy to be fair. Hard floors and low ceilings with a lack of fabric to absorb noise meant we could not converse. I was there for the food though!

Truly excellent meal. We had a table for 6 & we all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Service was also top class.

Food was amazing. We had friends visiting and they were blown away with the menu choice and the quality of the food chosen. They are insisting on returning to the Stack when they next visit. Can't fault it.

Great food, good atmosphere, very friendly staff (they were very busy running around, but very attentive). Good value for money. We will be back.
