   I had a great experience at this place! The bar has a good amount of space—comfortable and not too crowded—which made for a really relaxing time with a the large group I came with. The staff were incredibly nice, attentive without being overbearing, and genuinely helpful when we needed to seat everyone together. The highlight? The pizza. Absolutely delicious—perfectly crisp crust, fresh toppings, and just the right amount of cheese. You can tell they care about what they’re serving. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to! Thank you for taking care of us, we had a great day.

We haven't closed our kitchen outside of our normal trading hours recently so I'd love to know how this came about.    It was not how we expected. We were disappointed with the service, table, and atmosphere. The food was okay.

   We found a last minute booking available online at The Square Tavern for Christmas Day and completed all the steps including the pre-order. We were incredibly grateful for this as the booking was for a family whose daughter is in ICU in a critical condition. I tried to call the pub over five times the day after I had completed the booking to confirm that everything had gone through, with no answer. £175 deposit was taken from my card so the booking seemed secure. 4pm on Christmas Eve we receive a phone call saying that the booking could not be completed which is entirely unacceptable - the booking should never have been available online if it wasn’t possible to book. This left an entire family without a place to eat at Christmas. Very disappointed in this experience.

   This review is only about the Christmas 3 course meal The turkey was so white and dry it felt more like a cardboard cutout than a festive feast. Each bite required more effort than it should have and by the end, I was seriously considering dunking it into my drink for moisture. The potatoes tasted like they had been borrowed from last Christmas, and the whole thing screamed, 'Microwave meal'. And the gravy? Oh, the gravy. It was as if the chef had an artistic vision but ran out of paint. A single spoonful splattered randomly across the plate in what I can only assume was a bid for modern art. It didn’t scream ‘festive feast’; it screamed, ‘Oops, I missed!’ To top it off, the website promised luxury looking food, but in reality, it was more like a two-star attempt. If you’re thinking about booking your Christmas dinner here, do yourself a favor and stick to the local chippy. For me, it’s a firm ‘never again’—but hey, at least I’ve got a story to tell at next year’s Christmas party!

   Amazing experience for our work Christmas party. Lovely ambience and great customer service. delicious food. Thankyou so much for the free bottle of prosecco and Christmas crackers! we were talking about it for days after. Easy to organise also.

   I almost never write reviews but feel the need to for this one... Booked in a couple of weeks in advance for a work team lunch. I was not contacted about a pre-order, nor was I responded to when I messaged them asking about one. They only set up the table when I arrived. 15-20 minutes after being seated, we were given an updated menu with things they didn't have in stock. I was waiting at the bar to order for about 15 minutes while other people were served as soon as they came in (granted we had a big order and they were just having drinks but no communication at all). Lots of sighs and huffs while we were ordering and were told we'd have to go and get our own coffees from next door if we wanted them as they were short staffed - even though they were on the menu. Finally got the order put through and *just* as I paid was told it would be a minimum of a 45 minute wait which we couldn't do as we all needed to get back to work. The amount was of course refunded but along with a shrug of the shoulders and a 'not our problem' attitude. Absolutely no communication at all. This isn't the first time I've had a lunch messed up in here either - but at least I got to eat last time! Great place to drink but definitely do not recommend eating here.

   We had a confirmed reservation via open table. The staff simply sent us away. Blaming open table. I do not recommend this place at all. Very unproffessional.

    i'm a regular for drinks, first time tried the stone baked pizza, not for my liking for the price paid. Staff and service is great.
