The Springwood can be summed up effectively as a neighborhood restaurant, whose values, regarding the menu, focus greatly on locally sourced ingredients, hyper-seasonality, regenerative farming practices and minimizing waste.

The restaurant is the brainchild of local entrepreneurs Matthew Simpson (Chef) and Jasmine Lee (General Manager). Partners in business and in life since 2007.

To further their knowledge of the Hospitality industry they made their way to Downtown Toronto, where they were able to hone their crafts working in upscale and well-known restaurants for nine years. The end goal was always assured though, that they would come back to the town that gave them their start and help bring a special space to the place that they grew up.

As you make your way inside, you will be met with warm wood, lush plant life and funky art deco accents. We want this space to feel as though you are stepping into our home and we welcome you all to Come Over for Dinner.

Great tasting food and good pricing. Servers very informative and advised also advised where all the ingredients came from in Ontario. We will book again.

Menu was outstanding. Celebrated milestones and staff was awesome. Tasting menu introduced us to new foods. Wine sampler helped to try local wines that were unknown to us. Will now be our special occasion place.

Ordered the tasting menu and what a great and fun experience it was! Food, drinks and service were above and beyond fantastic! Will be back soon!!

Delicious. Well worth it. Everything was the best I've ever tasted but the lamb ragu was something special. We did the 95pp tasting menu and premium wine pairings as it was a special date. Don't regret one second. Sara was amazing. In fact all of the staff were. We will 100% be back.

This was a great dining experience, with friendly and knowledgeable staff and every dish was great! Highly recommended and I'll be heading back soon!

Have lived in Durham for just over a year and this instantly became our go-to spot. We've been 4 times, with 4 different menus, having some of the best meals we've ever had. Incredibly friendly and helpful service, too.

This is hands down the best restaurant in Ontario. Staff are great but the food my gawd. Been three times this year

Our overall experience was great, food was amazing we would definitely go back soon. Also, love the fact that it as close to home. The staff also made the difference they were so pleasant and provided a lot of details on what was being severed.

10/10 the owners are so personable and they explain every dish with such detail and care. Very good service and food is excellent. I’ve been there a few times for drinks specifically the cocktail menu is also very good my favourite spot for cocktails in Whitby.

The experience from beginning to end was flawless. Excellent, knowledgeable and detailed service with joy and passion. We had a late night reservation and chose the 5 course meal. We never felt rushed. The food presentation and quality was 12/10. An experience worth every dollar spent.
