If something is worth doing it’s worth doing right, is our philosophy.

Whether it’s our classic fish and chips or the more modern duck salad, blue cheese & poached pear, the emphasis is on taste. Head Chef Ian has known Ben for over 15 years and jealously guards his kitchen’s high standards.

We have a good selection of vegetarian dishes, dairy-free dishes and we are nearly 100% gluten-free, whether it’s our lighter lunch menu, the A La Carte, buffet and canapes menus, and not forgetting the kids' menu. The Sunday lunch roast, last but by no means least, a choice of 3 roasts with all the trimmings, sums us up really.

Dogs are more then welcome to join you in our restaurant in the downstairs dining area only. Please feel free to contact us for more information or if you need to amend your booking.

Can’t fault the food. Staff. Either inexperienced, lazy, or both. Waited for food, waited for table clean down, gave up on trying to order puds. Seating disgustingly dirty, as all the doors from restaurant to toilets, blocked urinal and a stinking poo mani in a cubicle. A ‘discretionary 10% tip added on bills. If you really think your staff chatting at the end of the bar instead of waiting tables is ok, add it into the menu costing and pay them properly, or better still get skilled waitrons.

A relaxed atmosphere with good food and service. Decor is in need of cleaning and the loos definitely need refreshing but otherwise we had a nice lunch.

Food was ok. Large portions and very tasty. However, the customer service was awful!! Waiting ages to be served. Food came then it was like we didn’t exist. Had to ask for more drinks. Staff walked round an a daze. Waited ages for our table to be cleared from plates and 2x 5 peoples drinks. It wasn’t busy so they can’t blame their poor customer service on that. I ended up taking the empty glasses back to the bar. We were left for 20 minutes hoping someone would offer us the desert menu. No one did. A lady walked in with her dog and the staff couldn’t be more attentive to that dog. Rushed around to get it water and fussing over it whilst us paying humans were ignored. A real shame this place has poor management and even more poor staff. So unless you have 4 legs, fur and a waggy tail don’t bother going here. A very rare meal out as a family was ruined. Waste of £130!!!

Haven’t been for some time and it would appear that there things have changed here. For a booking at 6:30 on Friday, I was very shocked to see less than 6 diners in the pub. The staff are young & polite but need a bit of work to become the finished article, like many of the other pubs in the local area. All that said, the food was still good but not the bistro-style that it used to be.

Food good quality. Staff pleasant but very inefficient. Our drinks sat on the bar for 15 minutes before being delivered to the table. My main course was delivered without cutlery and I had to ask twice before it arrived. The restaurant seemed to be short staffed and I felt sorry for the two young people serving who were under pressure. Overall the experience was disappointing and I will not go to the Spring Inn again.

Friendly staff, nice drinks. The squid tempura was some of the best I've had, big starter portion. Chicken schnitzel was lovely too. Nan enjoyed her fish and chips, Dad enjoyed his short rib beef pie and said it was mega tasty.
