Built during 2020 with a design to incorporate the countryside surroundings with their unique shepherds hut style, the four pods are a welcomed edition to the pub grounds. The pods offer an intimate private dining experience or a place for a boozy brunch. They are also a great place to book as a family or with friends. Pods are for exclusive use for parties over 5. Parties of 4 or under are welcome to book a pod but this may be shared with another party at busy times.

The idea of the hubs are fantastic, as allows privacy with children & pets - excellent idea ! Food was good - hot & tasty! Took a long time to arrive though at a time when many had left the pub. Glasses were dirty and water tasted disgusting!! In fairness, it was tap water but ice, lemon & a water filter would have helped ! Pub is on a busy 4way junction and clientele rather below par !! Wouldn’t recommend or return- better places for the price !!

Ate in one of the pods which made it very sociable. They were very busy so food took a while to come, but we were kept well informed and it was delicious when it arrived. A lovely place to spend an afternoon

A great evening. The menu was mostly vegetarian which is fine but we meat eaters had a limited choice. The food itself was great as was the service. We will be back

Excellent as ever. Staff are impeccable, food is great, Had my brother and his wife over fro Australia They loved it!!

I took my elderly mother to the Sportsman as I've taken her before and she really enjoyed the food. We weren't expecting the Cairo Van to be there, but thought we'd be game and give it a try. The menu was limited, to say the least. My mother can't handle chilli and the chicken dish she ordered burned her lips. We checked the menu and it didn't indicate it was hot. Also, having to go out into the rain to get our food and then force open a jammed door to get back into the pub wasn't great. I certainly won't be rushing back on a Thursday!

As always, a great place to meet up with friends for lunch. Food is always good ( although not an extensive menu) and staff are attentive and friendly

We have visited The Sportsman many tines and took family there yesterday for their first visit. We had prawns, cheesy chips, the handmade burger and ciders. All absolutely perfect. The staff were great, greeted us with smiles and we're helpful It started raining so we moved indoors. When we found a table we were "warned" the table next to us was noisy. They were just having fun, but it was loud and we did turn down sn offer to move tables before realising. Not the pubs fault and it's never been an issue before. We will all be back most definitely.
