We are a family run, local and independent new restaurant and café in the charming city of Ripon, UK. Located just a stone's throw away from the magnificent Ripon Cathedral, our establishment promises to offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all.

Always enjoy the experience at the Silva Bells. Slight criticisms this time are that the pie of the day always seems to be a chicken pie (which is nice but a change would be good) and the veg are getting a bit too al dente, especially the carrots. Service great and very friendly and food quality and choice good. Will be back!

Lovely place. The staff made us most welcome. Service, knowledge of menu and wine was excellent. From start to finish everything was perfect. We had the calves liver and chicken supreme. Both where cooked and served to perfection

We booked our table online, we were seated right away upon entry. Stuff were very polite and attentive. There was one drinks mixup but that was fine. Food was delicious and the crème brûlée for my dessert was very fresh and warm. I’ll definitely be bringing my family here again at some point.

Had the pie of the day and the whole meal was very tasty and piping hot. Started with houmos and sourdough bread which is always really nice. Best food I've had there to date. Highly recommended.

Wide and varied choice on menu so always spoilt for choice. Enjoyed a pie and a vegan tart and fantastic houmos and sourdough to start. Relaxing but vibrant atmosphere and attentive service.

Greeting was very nice. First course good. Mains, we both wanted steak. There was only ONE steak available. After the waitress had checked twice I decided to have a Salad Nicoise. I have enjoyed many salad Nicoise, here and in France, so I did not read the ingredients too much on the menu card. It was Not a Salad Nicoise, no Tuna, no lettuce, it was a mixture of vegetables including Carrots and Broccoli , not called for in any recipe I have read for a traditional Nicoise, a poached egg and Haloumi cheese. Yes it stated warm salad, normally perhaps the potatoes would provide that, this was a travesty of a Nicoise Salad. We did enjoy the ambience, met a couple who often ate there, who told us they always had a good meal there, perhaps we came on a bad night, but for a restaurant to have only one steak available at the start of the weekend and to pass off a dish as a Salad Nicoise is not good enough, If perhaps they had stated 'Our take on a Salad Nicoise' I would have questioned just what the ingredients were. Because of thee two major points of criticism I would rate the food side as minus three stars, I would also add that there is only one WC for males, although it was clean and well presented, they should consider providing at least another. The staff were very good in their attention to us.
