Welcome to The Sidings, a unique destination brought to you by Carriages Restaurant. Nestled amidst serene landscapes, The Sidings combines a farm shop and café to offer an immersive experience for train enthusiasts and culinary connoisseurs alike.
Our exquisite First Class carriage café, adorned with elegant art-deco elements, provides a one-of-a-kind dining experience from 10am – 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am - 3pm on Sundays. Our carriage Farm Shop, open from 10am – 6pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am - 4pm on Sundays, features fresh, seasonal, locally produced products, ensuring quality and sustainability.

You can book a table for inside the café, however walk ins are welcome.
We are only dog friendly outside on a lead, unless they are a service dog.
Smoking is not permitted on site.

An absolutely gorgeous setting considering its set on a business park. Something very different. Service is above and beyond. We ate outside the first time having just tea and Scone which was lovey. Then we decided to book a table inside for our next visit. Again the service was great, not too much choice on the menu but I guess they may mot have the room to have an extensive menu. Myself and my partner had the full English breakfast and I will be honest at £12.95 I have had much nicer and cheaper elsewhere. The bacon was quite hard and sausage was miniscule the toast almost broke a tooth but the rest was fine. I would definitely book again but I won't be ordering much more than tea and cake if I'm honest. Definitely worth a stop off and there is also a lovely little farm shop in one of the carriages too.

We loved our breakfast at the sidings. The food was delicious and really beautifully presented. The waiters and waitresses were exceptionally polite and attentive without being intrusive. Our only slight criticism is with regards to the cappuccinos- the coffee was really weak and was mostly milk foam - disappointing! With a little extra barista training this issue could be easily fixed. These comments are meant to be taken in a constructive way as we loved the experience, have recommended to friends will definitely be back - will just hope for stronger coffee next time !!

Sidings was superb. Plush but quirky 1st class train carriage setting. Had the pancakes with fruit good choice. Excellent value compared to some brunch venues. Will definitely be back. Staff attentive

Yet another delicious meal and plenty of offering for vegetarians too. We took a child but he ended up having an adult meal as he wanted bacon and sausage, so it’d be nice to see a child version of the full English/ greater variety for children.
