Welcome to The Sidings, a unique destination brought to you by Carriages Restaurant. Nestled amidst serene landscapes, The Sidings combines a farm shop and café to offer an immersive experience for train enthusiasts and culinary connoisseurs alike.
Our exquisite First Class carriage café, adorned with elegant art-deco elements, provides a one-of-a-kind dining experience from 10am – 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am - 3pm on Sundays. Our carriage Farm Shop, open from 10am – 6pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am - 4pm on Sundays, features fresh, seasonal, locally produced products, ensuring quality and sustainability.

You can book a table for inside the café, however walk ins are welcome.
We are only dog friendly outside on a lead, unless they are a service dog.
Smoking is not permitted on site.

Venue is excellent, refurbishment of carriage is superb which offers a different dining experience. Waitresses very good too. Some problems with our meals but we will visit again. Well worth a visit.

It was a novel place to eat. The food was good in part - excellent focaccia and goats cheese - but they replaced the toasted croissant as it was almost impossible to cut. The cakes looked good. The service was very good, friendly and helpful. The outside space was especially nice. Probably a good place for coffee and cake.

Waited 45 minutes for a coffee, no milk for another 20 minutes. Table behind had the same experience. Such a shame as the place is absolutely beautiful and so well presented.

It was lovely having brunch at The Sidings, eating in a railway carriage, all nicely done and different, I had the pancakes with summer fruits which was gorgeous, my husband had the meat platter which was lovely but he did miss a little rocket salad and some sort of bread but still really enjoyed it, my son had the eggs benedict which he said were amazing and his girlfriend had the pancakes and loved them. We bought some things from the farm shop after which is also a railway carriage! Great experience!

I recently visited The Sidings and was pleased with the quality of the food, which was delicious. However, I did notice that the staff seemed a bit inexperienced and still getting accustomed to their roles. Despite this, the service was still friendly and welcoming. I have no doubt that once they settle into their positions, this will become an excellent spot for breakfast. With some fine-tuning, I'm confident that they'll be serving up top-notch meals and an exceptional dining experience."
