Welcome to The Sidings, a unique destination brought to you by Carriages Restaurant. Nestled amidst serene landscapes, The Sidings combines a farm shop and café to offer an immersive experience for train enthusiasts and culinary connoisseurs alike. Our exquisite First Class carriage café, adorned with elegant art-deco elements, provides a one-of-a-kind dining experience from 10am – 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am - 3pm on Sundays. Our carriage Farm Shop, open from 10am – 5pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am - 4pm on Sundays, features fresh, seasonal, locally produced products, ensuring quality and sustainability.
You can book a table for inside the café, however walk ins are welcome. We are only dog friendly outside on a lead, unless they are a service dog. Smoking is not permitted on site.

Decor great, though music too intrusive and carriage got chilly. My companion enjoyed her toasted croissant but my smoked trout was disappointing, the couscous pretty tasteless. Considering the upmarket hype, a little more is required all round.

Thank you! Excellent brunch, great coffee and wonderful service. The carriage was so cosy and warm on a rainy morning. Finished off with a bit of retail therapy in the shop. The perfect place to catch up with friends.

My friend enjoyed her Eggs Benedict , poached eggs to perfection .
Sadly I was very disappointed with my choice of mushrooms on sourdough with cured Shropshire meat . Chef failed to put butter on the toast!! And unbelievably the mushrooms were dry !
How can someone make mushrooms dry and fail to butter the toast ?!
I asked for some balsamic or olive oil to drizzle and moisten the dish , but it couldn’t recover an overall big fail dish
I ate it all as was starving

From booking table online to arriving at The Sidings was a complete and utter pleasure. Molly and Luke made us feel very welcome and attentive to our needs. The food was just amazing, well presented and just yummy. We are ex allpay employees and to experience what Tony and the team have achieved is just stunning. Highly recommend everyone to try out this venue and beautiful surroundings.
