Welcome to The Sidings, a unique destination brought to you by Carriages Restaurant. Nestled amidst serene landscapes, The Sidings combines a farm shop and café to offer an immersive experience for train enthusiasts and culinary connoisseurs alike. Our exquisite First Class carriage café, adorned with elegant art-deco elements, provides a one-of-a-kind dining experience from 10am – 4pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am - 3pm on Sundays. Our carriage Farm Shop, open from 10am – 5pm, Wednesday to Saturday, and 10am - 4pm on Sundays, features fresh, seasonal, locally produced products, ensuring quality and sustainability.
You can book a table for inside the café, however walk ins are welcome. We are only dog friendly outside on a lead, unless they are a service dog. Smoking is not permitted on site.

Boutique cafe with good food and nice attention to detail. The staff were lovely! Our party of four all enjoyed themselves and the quirky setting just adds to the experience. Would definitely go again.

Lovely novel idea, train carriage was beautifully restored and the sun was shinning which added to the day.
Food was pipping hot and lovely quality. Service was excellent couldn’t ask for more.

Something different for a breakfast or cake and coffee out.
Beautiful carriages, lovely setting and great service. Definitely worth a visit.
My only comments would be that we would have preferred a few more breakfast menu choices e.g. Eggs Benedict or just a plain old bacon sandwich.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Lovely to catch up with an old friend lots of time to chat didn't feel pressured to leave even though it was quite busy. Staff were really helpful and attentive.

Really enjoyed lunch today, the Rosemary Focaccia was amazing and the vegetable crisps were so yummy.
Will be back to try more items on the menu.
Just wish they would bring the pancakes back, had them the first time I went and they were phenomenal.
Service was excellent, would definitely recommend.

The unique setting in a railway carriage was very comfortable and a good experience. The food was good value and excellent. The staff were very efficient and friendly. Overall we would recommend The Sidings Cafe and the adjacent Sidings Farm Shop.

Decor great, though music too intrusive and carriage got chilly. My companion enjoyed her toasted croissant but my smoked trout was disappointing, the couscous pretty tasteless. Considering the upmarket hype, a little more is required all round.
