Food and service second to none, we were the only diners in (perhaps understandably the day before St Valentine's Day) so it was very quiet and a little on the cool side.

Rather good actually, but needs to correct the wrong telephone numbers on social media and answer the right one. Perhaps the Shrub needs an answering service/process including a ring back to confirm that they have received a booking.

Have been several times for brunch. It has been fabulous each time. The French toast with bacon and maple is the most delicious I’ve had. The service today was great

First visit here and the service from front of house staff was great, very attentive and took our order promptly. Unfortunately it took 1 hour and 10 minutes for our food to arrive, the waiter kept coming over to apologise and kept us up to date, but wouldn’t expect to wait that long. Four other tables that came in after us all got served before us and even though we were offered two free drinks to apologise for the wait which was much appreciated, I think feedback needs to be given to the kitchen staff. Food was lovely once it arrived, however I’m not sure I’d come if I was ever in a hurry!

Great little spot with great food and drinks. It's just a shame that it takes a little while for the food to come out. We had long finished our drinks before we received our food. The small plates are very good value for money.

Not as good as previous visits, but has apparently been recently taken over. Very disorganised, no drinks menus available, no knowledge of what was available. Drink spilled when delivering, but no offer to clean it up. Service very slow. The food however was good. Tonic water appeared in a glass, rather than in a bottle with a glass, which I found strange. The gentleman who I presume was the cook was somewhat dishevelled, with dirty clothes - a bit off-putting. Would I return? Possibly, but I think I’ll give them time to ‘settle in’. This place used to be superb, so I’m hoping it will return to that level.

Amazing food in a really cute restaurant. Service was unobtrusive but efficient. Would highly recommend

Wow absolutely gorgeous food! All three of us ordered the flatbreads, two halloumi & falafel and one chicken! We were all equally impressed. Came piping hot on piping hot plates and tasted delicious! My third and best visit yet. First visit for my mum and sister and they loved it. Finished off with two sticky toffee puds which were to die for!! Lovely service too, thank you!

Stumbled on this place waiting for the next train, booked a table and came back. The food is outstanding, friendly and helpful staff and a very good environment. Highly recommended.
