What was once a rowdy sailor’s drinking den has been transformed into a civilised gastro pub complete with a separate and impressive function and convention facility that can cater for up to 200 guests. This iconic South Bank hotel was constructed in 1864 and has developed a reputation as a lamb lover’s paradise. Our classic pub style menu boasts mouth watering dishes for all dining tastes. With three distinct dining areas plus function rooms, The Ship Inn is the perfect location for casual dining, lazy alfresco lunches, functions and events. We don’t have poker machines, we don’t have TV’s and we don’t have TAB. We are a true gastro pub with a traditional atmosphere in a prime South Bank location. All five of us enjoyed the food, the customer service was very good and the attendant to our table was very pleasant.

The vegetarian lasagne and macadamia mango curry where very nice. Servings decent size too. Quick service by lovely waiters.

Quite busy when we attended but staff made us feel we were special. Service was excellent in fact they went way beyond. Food was mostly tasty although now that we are familiar with the venue would definitely choose differently next time. Good atmosphere
