A pleasant trip to an off-the-beaten-track Pub with stunning views was ruined by irresponsible dog owners allowing their cock-a-poos and shitzus to yap for Great Britain INSIDE the pub while we were trying to have a meal. To add insult to injury we were almost swept away in a noisy table moving exercise, evidently to make way for a large party. First and last visit.

Booked a table for 7 people for 16.15. I use a wheelchair and had to negotiate 3 steps down into bar then 1 up to the table. Place is not suitable for less active wheelchair users. We asked if we could order some drinks from the waitress and were told to go to the bar. Ordered our food at 16.30 and it took over an hour to arrive and the quality of 2 meals was far from acceptable, firstly 2 of us ordered Chicken Schnitzel and were presented with a small plump chicken breast in breadcrumbs and sorry looking cold chips. Schnitzel is traditionally a flattened chicken breast so the chef needs to brush up on recipes. I told the polite young waitress about the chips and she took the food away and reheated it and at this point the chips were just about cremated. No one came round to see if everything was OK. Ordered a child's ice cream that took 20 minutes to arrive. Paid £118 for below standard food and service. It's not as if the food is cheap so letting young kids on low pay run service on a Sunday only shows how arrogant some management can be. We will never return and we will never recommend the Ship to anyone.

Beautiful meal. Cooked to perfection. Bursting with flavour, good portion sizes, well presented and served hot to the table. Service is quick and efficient. Bar staff are friendly and accommodating. Overall an outstanding experience . Highly recommended

The kitchen open times were incorrect on their website! We were staying locally for a birthday celebration and booked for dinner at the ship inn and the published kitchen closing time was 9pm but on arrival at 6:30 we were told the kitchen closes at 6 on a Sunday, very very disappointing

Booked a table through open table for 1pm Monday lunchtime. Got confirmation. When we got to pub, we were told there was no kitchen on that day. What a waste of time.

This was our 2nd visit here and what a disappointment! Service was shocking and very slow. Took 35 minutes for the main course. The desert well, we waited 25 minutes and then I got fed up of waiting and asked for a refund. Quality of main course food was terrible. I had the fish and my plate was full of grease. It looked like they took the fish out of the fryer and placed it straight onto the plate. My daughter had Korean sesame chicken burger with Asian slaw. It was a basic chicken burger with some sweet chilli literally thrown on top. The slaw was a few bits of white cabbage and some slices of red chilli. Needless to say we will not be returning and no, I wouldn’t recommend at all.

Starters were fine and the Sunday lunch ok but not very big. Let down massively by the burger and chips and fish and chips. Fish was all batter and overcooked and chips on both meals were cold and tasteless. No garnish on either meal just very basic. As it took over an hour before mains were served we did not bother to order dessert. Very disappointing so will not be visiting here again for food

Our roast dinner was served quickly and was of good quality. The ambience was pleasant, with fresh decor, good views outside and respectable, well-dressed clientele. The volume of the background music was slightly on the loud side, but the songs played were nicely obscure, rather than the cheesy stuff played in rival venues. We will return!

Haven't eaten here in a while, and needless to say we won't be back in a hurry. Service was slow, food order came out wrong and food was not nice at all. 4 of us ate, burger was ok but mixes grill was shocking (especially for the price) and gammon was like eating a mouth full of salt.
