Enjoyed a very generous and excellent quality Sunday roast lunch. The food was of the very best quality you can find in a pub. Portions were generous and arrived hot. There was a long delay waiting for dessert - I think someone forgot to enter the order in their system. The pub is decorated a bit more like a wine bar and lacks a bit In atmosphere. However staff were friendly and I would return again as the food was so good.

Not a fan of putting service charge on the receipt. Felt obligated to pay it.

A very enjoyable evening with friends, very decent food, a warm, convivial decor, helpful and attentive staff. I wouldn't hesitate to revisit.

Unfortunately I found the service to be quite bad. There was one member of staff who was quite attentive however I was ignored when I walked into the building. I did not think it seemed to be that busy but there were a few things that were lacking. When the mains were brought out the member of staff just walked away and didn't come back. We didn't have any cutlery so I had to go and ask. Nobody checked how everything was and service was extremely slow with drinks. I also asked for another plate and this was also forgotten. I feel as though the staff are regularly experimenting making new drinks and forgetting there customers.

The food was good. Staff were nice but there was one lady who seemed like she had no idea what she was doing. We also noticed tables of 2 had the same amount of veg and potatoes given along with their roasts as a table of 4? But you pay the same price? So that’s a bit of a big bare when we have to share between more of us - so maybe something to amend. It was a shame there were no starters available too as they looked fabulous online.

Fantastic meal and overnight stay. Stand out staff from original enquiry to dinner - friendly, fun and absolutely nothing too much trouble. Food especially good - really fresh and beautifully presented. Best blush rosé ever!

Previously had a good experience here, but not great yesterday. It is expensive ,so you expect good food and service. Unfortunately we were put in party area ‘by mistake’ so much too noisy to hold a conversation for a small family birthday dinner of 5 people. And not offered an alternative table when there was space at the front later on. Gluten free options for coeliac not available although they should have been. Restaurant were informed on booking. So not a great birthday for me! I was also served main course with bread containing gluten by mistake despite ordering carefully. A family member spotted that it didn’t look like gluten free bread. They had to redo the main course as the bread had been put on top of it. So everyone else had their dinner and I didn’t! Service started well but then we were forgotten about and had to go find someone and ask for dessert menu. We did get 1 drink and 2 free puddings but that doesn’t make up for a pretty poor experience overall.

That Thai Curry was amazing. Will have again. Maybe not next time though - I’m looking forward to seeing the vast selection of vegan items on the menu soon.

Absolutely fantastic service from the whole team from the second we walked through the door. The food was really lovely, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in Wells.
