Saybrook Fish House is the spot to go to in the area when craving seafood and great wine. The venue uses quality ingredients that really make their dishes standout. The seafood used comes from the New England coast. Saybrook Fish House is open for business seven days a week. It's a great eatery for celebrations and for fun date nights.From the raw bar, diners can dig into jumbo shrimp cocktail and oysters on the half shell. For appetizers, the restaurant offers everything from fried mozzarella and mussels in white wine, to baked mushrooms and crab cakes. Clam lovers must try the fried whole belly clam entrée, which is fried to perfection. Another seafood favorite is the king crab legs served with decadent drawn butter.

We have been there several times and have always had a great experience and enjoyed. This time we chose it for Valentine’s Day, with an early seating because we knew it would be perfect!

                                                                                          This is a great restaurant with an old Cape Cod feel. That’s why I love going there regularly. We had a quiet table in the back and the food is absolutely exquisite. Everything is from scratch and they will customize anything for you. I had blackened salmon and my friend had stuffed fillet of sole. The wine was excellent, and our server was fantastic. Always a wonderful experience to be there.

                                                                                          We drive 90 minutes to come here. It was my friend's birthday, and this is one of the few places she can have King Crab and fried clams. They are market price, but the portions are large in comparison to other places, or even in the grocery store. Our server, Bonnie, was so friendly and efficient. It was lunch time but they let us order from any of the 3 menus: lunch, early bird, dinner. Between the 3 of us, we had King Crab with baked potato, the Poseidon Adventure, which was a variety of seafood over linguine, and appetizer orders of fried belly clams, steamed clams, and chowders. All great, except the steamers were a bit sandy, even after rinsing them in the broth, and the seafood/linguini was a bit heavy on the garlic. Other than that, the salad and veggies that come with the meal was also very good, and although too full for the fruit basket, we did take it home. The atmosphere and decor fit the venue and the people are very friendly and accommodating. The place may need a little updating, but not important when the food and service is great. Will be back later in the year for sure.

                                                                                          First time at the SFH. Seating was near kitchen path when numerous better tables were available at around 5:30 PM. However, the atmosphere in the Dining Room was rustic & pleasant. Service was outstanding! Appetizer (mussels) were numerous, with excellent flavor, and nicely cooked! Martini was healthy and flavorful! Unfortunately, entrees (Snapper & Jambalaya) were just OK. Jambalaya, a Special, needed some seasoning heat in a generally bland gravy. A generous portion of Snapper was overcooked a bit with just a meh flavor. The huge salad (with nice dressings) and fruit offerings at the end were unexpected and good! Because the mussels were so well done, I think we were simply unlucky with our entree choices and will likely find tastier options on our next visit. SFH is a great value with outstanding service!
