“Almost Four Decades of Desert Dining Excellence continues under a new helm”.

As the former owner of the Adobe Garden Hotel and Irongate Restaurant in Palm Desert, Cunard’s in La Quinta, Robert Cunard’s in Palm Desert, and The Prevue in Rancho Mirage, Robert Cunard’s reputation as a restaurateur is well-established in the Coachella Valley.

He rebuilt the Sandbar, and has remained true to his tradition of quality cuisine and impeccable service.

Robert will pass the Helm of The Sandbar to Waldo Cesoni, a local seasoned Restauranteur who is already serving the Coachella Valley with Waldo’s Ristorante and Backstreet Bistro on El Paseo.

“Bob and I share the same passion for taking care of our guests and treat every one as family”, The Sandbar will continue with the same philosophy and culture for many more years to come.

Bill Baker playing music starting at 6:00PM ~ Tuesday through Saturday.

Truly an amazing experience! The food is delicious, wonderful atmosphere and the energy with Bill Baker singing oldies makes it so joyful! It’s a 10/10! Make your reservation you will love it!

We had the most amazing time celebrating our 7th anniversary. The food was absolutely incredible, with every dish bursting with flavor and creativity. The ambiance was charming, with soft lighting and beautiful decor creating a romantic atmosphere. The live piano music added a touch of elegance and romance to the evening. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who made sure every detail was perfect.

Always a great night with great music, drinks and food. We had to go one more time before they close for the season. We will be back as soon as they reopen.

fun night with a table in the bar and Ken Baker entertaining. dinner was so so. My son’s fried chicken was overcooked.

We were happy to discover this restaurant. The comfort food brings back my childhood memories! We will definitely revisit. Normally we don’t go out in the east valley but this experience is definitely worth the trip!

Usually good, think the kitchen had a bad night. Really think the restaurant should stop allowing bar flies to sing: it ruins the experience. Between volume and satisfactory meal, we walked as soon as the check arrived (and was paid).

We live full time in La Quinta and have been often. We went last night for our anniversary and it couldn't be better. We will be back often especially when guest are visiting. Good food good staff and great entertainment. Love the Sandbar

What a hidden gem! So glad we gave this place a chance; we stayed at the hotel behind it and from the outside it looks like a dive bar, but we were intrigued by the packed parking lot. Turns out it’s old school decor inside, fantastic Italian food, & the best live music we’ve had in a long time- he doesn’t even take a break! We will be talking about this place for a long time, and wished we lived here to come often!
