“Almost Four Decades of Desert Dining Excellence continues under a new helm”.

As the former owner of the Adobe Garden Hotel and Irongate Restaurant in Palm Desert, Cunard’s in La Quinta, Robert Cunard’s in Palm Desert, and The Prevue in Rancho Mirage, Robert Cunard’s reputation as a restaurateur is well-established in the Coachella Valley.

He rebuilt the Sandbar, and has remained true to his tradition of quality cuisine and impeccable service.

Robert will pass the Helm of The Sandbar to Waldo Cesoni, a local seasoned Restauranteur who is already serving the Coachella Valley with Waldo’s Ristorante and Backstreet Bistro on El Paseo.

“Bob and I share the same passion for taking care of our guests and treat every one as family”, The Sandbar will continue with the same philosophy and culture for many more years to come.

Always a great night with great music, drinks and food. We had to go one more time before they close for the season. We will be back as soon as they reopen.

fun night with a table in the bar and Ken Baker entertaining. dinner was so so. My son’s fried chicken was overcooked.

We were happy to discover this restaurant. The comfort food brings back my childhood memories! We will definitely revisit. Normally we don’t go out in the east valley but this experience is definitely worth the trip!

Usually good, think the kitchen had a bad night. Really think the restaurant should stop allowing bar flies to sing: it ruins the experience. Between volume and satisfactory meal, we walked as soon as the check arrived (and was paid).

We live full time in La Quinta and have been often. We went last night for our anniversary and it couldn't be better. We will be back often especially when guest are visiting. Good food good staff and great entertainment. Love the Sandbar

What a hidden gem! So glad we gave this place a chance; we stayed at the hotel behind it and from the outside it looks like a dive bar, but we were intrigued by the packed parking lot. Turns out it’s old school decor inside, fantastic Italian food, & the best live music we’ve had in a long time- he doesn’t even take a break! We will be talking about this place for a long time, and wished we lived here to come often!

The hostess took us on time and gave us a choice of tables. The entertainer in the bar was so loud, however, we had ask for seating in the very back room to have an enjoyable dinner conversation. It took a while for our waitress to greet us and get ordering started. Cocktails were good (especially the Cosmo). We asked to split a wedge salad and received a split chopped salad instead. My sauteed sole was ordinary. Sides of rice pilaf and vegetables were barely warm. My guests split a chicken piccata and enjoyed it. A $15 surcharge was applied to our bill for sharing an entree. This is my second visit to The Sandbar and although I enjoyed it less than on my first visit several years ago, I'll return for their 60's style menu and ambience.
