The Salt Line, the popular DC homage to New England’s iconic fish and oyster houses, brings a third location to Bethesda Row. New England meets the Chesapeake at this beauty of a restaurant with lots of comfy booth seating and an inviting u shaped bar and lounge area. Menu features all the classics and raw bar guests have come to love from the original The Salt Line plus some delicious new surprises from award winning The Salt Line Chef Kyle Bailey and Bethesda Executive Chef Eric McKamey.

    took some out of towners to the Salt Line and they loved it. Enjoyed the crab dip, fried clams, fried seafood tower, fish sandwich, halibut cheeks, cod, and portuguese stew. Lovely ambiance, perfect service, and food came out hot and tasty. I just love this place.

    Although a seafood restaurant (we always get oysters), Salt Line has excellent meat dishes: we've recently tried the Roast Beef sandwich (OK), the smashburger (very good) andthe pork chop (out of this world). Makes it easy to go with people who don't like fish or eat shellfish.

    Salt Line has a casual yet elegant setting. Service was on point. The rockfish was superb! Oysters were from interesting places and very good. Lobster roll was delicious. We had a really good time!

    We had an excellent dinner and experience at Salt Line last night. The food was perfectly prepared, the ambience was great (not too loud but energetic vibe), and the service was attentive and professional. We have been to Salt Line a few other times, but this was by far our best experience to date.

    Restaurant was great, just buy intubate and a live atmosphere. The oysters were fantastic. The fish sandwich, not so much - it appeared to be precooked or perhaps had too much breading. Out sever was nice, but curt, not very attentive and only came by to deliver food and pick up. The managers made an impromptu visit or two which filled that void. Overall, good experience but could have been better.

    Crab dip appetizer was delicious. Fish sandwich was pretty good but nothing special. The swordfish special was average. Overall, we expected more.

    Our second visit. Both excellent experiences. Friendly service. Good pacing between dinner courses. Attentive staff. We will be back.

    Our server was awesome (I wish I remembered her name) and made our casual dinner a delight. Food was great especially the halibut cheeks and the clam chowder. Oysters were very good, fresh and tasty. Nice dinner!
